And here we have someone that does not have any passion for video games
-
I love video games, but I'm not sad over not being able to bring old gear into new dlc. Do you cry every time a new game is released and you stop playing an old one? Nothing lasts forever.
-
Edited by SpaceMagicCheif: 8/6/2015 4:48:29 AMIt is true nothing last forever not you not me not that guy posting below us nothing we all meet the same end. But the thing is this is bungies game they don't have to have the same rules as real life if bungie wanted too they could make it to were are guns last forever for all ten years if they wanted too. I don't know if you noticed but video games have become a career path that people dedicate there entire life's too heck there are even pro gamers that get payed too play video games professionally so do not say that it is just pixels it is in art form and a way of life. also sorry for the wall of text
-
No apologies necessary. I get that video games are art and a career path, believe me I get it. The Last of Us and Life is Strange both hit me right in the feels just as much as my favorite painting, song, or movie. I'm not devaluing video games. The people at Bungie put more time and passion into Destiny than any one fan ever could. This is year 1 to us, but they have been working on this game for several years now. If they say it's time to move on from our year 1 gear, then it's time to move on. This chapter in Destiny is over. It is time for a change. Bungie did you a favor. They could have went with a new standalone every year model and made you start from scratch each year. Instead they let you take your characters with you, so that you can continue your story. Stop crying over spilled milk. There are far more important things in life and in Destiny.
-
And one last thing please enlighten me on why you view crying as a bad thing and I'm not talking about the people that cry about the last word or thorn or the people that are saying too nerf something I'm talking about crying as a basic human emotion you make it sound as if they are a lesser human being then you are because they cry about something they love or just feel sad about losing something that was important to them there is nothing wrong with crying or feeling bad about losing something that was important to you it reminds us that we are human that we are flawed we are not prefect not by a long shot
-
I love bungie with all my heart they where a big part of my childhood I still remember playing halo 3 with my friends on double xp weekend like it was yesterday I also love destiny and have made many memories there too but if there's one thing bungie has always told us that if you feel like the game can be improved then you need to come too the bungie forms and voice it too bungie so they can make it batter it is in my opinion that we should be able to ascend are old legendarys I feel it would be batter for the game to allow us to do this so year one players can show and have story's to tell to new players that come to destiny and so that for the few people that grind this game daily can have something meaningful to show too other people an example would be people that own the devil you know or the Supremacy you can't get those guns anymore so that means people that own those guns have become legend and are part of destinys history but that's just my opinion
-
You aren't being forced to delete those guns. Keep a few favorites for posterity. They will work just as well in VoG, Crota, and PoE as they do now.
-
I know that in Crucible we will still be able too play with the old legendarys but that's not the problem the thing that I love to play the most is iron banner and I know I will find a few new guns in the taken king that I will like but I also want to use I'm old guns in iron banner too I also want to be able to use im old guns in the new raid too so that's why we need to be able to ascend the old guns too and of course I know I could just take the old guns too the new raid or iron banner but the problem there is it would be impossible to kill anything because of how big the gap between lvls is have you ever tried to take a lvl one gun into iron banner and try to kill someone that has a thorn or last word it is almost impossible man
-
If you don't take what you pay for seriously you're a joke.
-
If you are emotionally attached to gear in a video game, you are a joke.
-
Yup, you're a moron.
-
Because I don't cry over a video game update? If that's the case, yes, I'm the biggest freaking moron I know and I'm damn proud of it. It's completely -blam!-ing stupid to be emotionally attached to guns in a video game. You people probably have simulated girlfriends, too.
-
Edited by ch33zy burrito: 8/6/2015 4:26:19 AMNo, games are meant to be attached to but not in the way that you think. The same way people are attached to arts or sports or anything they invest time into is the same way people are attached to video games. And to add on to that, people pay for their content. It's upsetting to see that you don't have the brainpower to understand this. Maybe some day when you're older you'll get it.
-
I'm not the one who lacks brain power here.
-
Your posts state otherwise.
-
Your post states your a little kid who need to gain some perspective and realize that video games aren't worth crying over.
-
If that was the case then you just got schooled by a kid. GG
-
No, I didn't. Not at all. You're dumber than I thought if you think you schooled me on anything. Being attached to guns in a video game is stupid and immature. Like anything else you spend money on, games change, progress, become obsolete, break, etc. None of your analogies work for this situation. Everything changes with time, Destiny is no exception.
-
Edited by ch33zy burrito: 8/6/2015 5:04:07 AMNo, I did. My first post destroyed the first guys logic. You proceeded to completely avoid what my OP was about and jump to being emotionally attached the guns. Games are meant to get somebody to feel something. I don't know how many times I have to repeat this, you just have to be a really special case if you think otherwise. Change is irrelevant. Who said nothing stays forever? Bungie themselves included select weapons in every Halo game they ever made and some have never been excluded in the series.
-
Don't waste your time with this guy man he doesn't have any passion or understanding in him people like him is what's wrong with this world they don't see anything form a different view point
-
You didn't destroy anyone's logic. Games as an art form has nothing to do with any of this. I agree that video games can be used as a medium to convey messages, like art and other forms of media. That's not what this is about. It is stupid that anyone would become attached to a weapon in a game. So what if Bungie included some weapons in every game? Did those games last forever? No. They ended and people moved on.
-
You didn't destroy anyone's logic.
Indeed I did. Both that guys and yours but moving on.
Games as an art form has nothing to do with any of this.
Yes they do. Don't you realize that the very things that make up this game can be considered art? That includes the style of weapons and the story behind them. Each weapon has a "story" behind them in a sense. They treasure this or become attached because of it, or at least that's how it is in theory.
It is stupid that anyone would become attached to a weapon in a game.
Not at all. That weapon could've been their first or they could've killed crota with it or beaten PoE with it or gone flawless in ToO with it, or they could've showed it off to other onlookers. The possibilities are endless. The thing is, you're confusing people getting upset because they have to grind all over agin with people getting upset because they are emotionally attached to their weapon, which is not a stupid thing in any case. People want to bring their stuff with them for millions of reasons but most of all, they don't want it to be useless.
So what if Bungie included some weapons in every game? Did those games last forever? No. They ended and people moved on.
They didn't last forever but they lasted until the next game and the next game and the next game etc. Just because others do it doesn't mean it's ok, and not every game moves on the way you say.
-
I could go throw all my guns right now and tell you where I got them form but the happiest moment for me was when I got gjallarhorn form a legendary engram man I was so happy I even want to bed that night with a smile heck I even recoded it
-
It is stupid in every case to be emotionally attached to a weapon. None of the things you said actually matter. It's just a game. Get a freaking life. You didn't destroy any logic. You don't even know what logic is.
