I'm thinking about buying the Xbox One and playing Destiny there instead of the Xbox 360.
There used to be a free upgrade for people who bought a digital copy of the game and I am aware that this doesn't
apply to my situation because I have a physical copy for the 360.
I'm wondering if there is any way for me to keep my Destiny progress from the 360 on the One if I were to
buy another copy of the game for the One.
Short and simple: 360 player wants to play Destiny on the One without having to start all over again. Is that possible?

Yes. As long as you sign in to both consoles with the same Gamertag, you will access the same Destiny account.

Hello, As long as you stick to the same account, all progress will transfer as intended. If you purchased a Physical Edition or Digital post Jan 15th, you must rebuy the game. Currently, you are able to use the Digital Upgrade to transfer your DLC from last gen ------> current gen. Lastly, Any Pre-Order content, or items redeemed by codes are linked to the console that they were used on.
