10 seems to be the magic number.
To be fair, though, they were saying the same thing before about Dark Below as well. We've already been through this whole thing with gear not being ascended before. And in the end we got Etheric Light.

I hope that the raid gear will be upgraded to the new system, all we have to do is grind for them again
