If you didn't know this was actually coming then sorry for you. That's how it has always work for mmos. Also it's not a waste of time if you had fun like most people did.

Also to point out, not every MMO works this way. And just because there are MMOs that does this does NOT mean Destiny has to be the same way. People didn't care that Etheric Light was in House of Wolves. It didn't bother anyone and made plenty of people happy. There's no reason for that to not still be a thing going forward.

As Angry Joe put it in his review: "And if you're one of those who just play the game for multiplayer or who enjoy endless grinding without much context? Then you're fine, ok. You probably think the game is fantastic." Here's the thing, MANY people aren't like that though. So no, plenty of folks did not enjoy themselves but we kept with it because we were under the impression that this was going to be a progressive game in which all the things we did held value. We grinded for the sake of getting those Legendary Weapons and Armor from the vendors and Raids and built up an arsenal of weapons looking to bring our favorites with us throughout this supposed 10 year journey and simply add onto that arsenal along the way over time. But no, clearly that is not the case.
