-----Here are some tips to make that dregs promise the exotic weapon it was meant to be-----
----and for the haters saying it sucks, either learn how to use it or go somewhere else, this thread is for tips not complainers------
1: single point sling (for fast switching to finish off far away targets
2:shoot the ground (if a target if at medium range, ricochet the rounds off the ground instead of shooting the enemy directly. Once the bounced rounds are close enough they will track the target)
3: shoot/melee (fire once and melee, you will kill the target and have a high chance to refill your mag)
4: aim for the chest (the kick from the weapons rapid fire will lead you to get more headshots)
5: if there is a group at long range you can fire at the wall behind them (even with travel time the bullets will track on ricochet damage some and if your lucky killing some) good way to spread them out
6: dregs promise can consistently destroy knights shields with ease
WILL UPDATE AS I LEARN MORE ABOUT THE DREGS PROMISE

Also from what I have learned sidearms will not trigger the invincibility on hobgoblins
-
I was excited until I learned it was a 3 round burst. And it's pretty fun, but the Dynasty kinda outshines it. The fact that the sidearms are not hit scan and you have to lead your shots means you need a fair bit of skill to use them efficiently.

Good post. I found that it took some time to get used too and that once you did the weapon really shined. Especially during arc burn or specialist. Good for hobgoblins, captains, and shielded cabal during Angry modifier (shooting at ground next to them.

I really like this gun for close range messing around
-
Nice tips. Sounds like a fun gun. I've only heard negative things about it, but it's cool someone finds it useful.
-
Damn i love this gun lol, sorry haters but im kickin ass with it, who agrees?
-
Vestian Dynasty is sooooo much better it's not even funny Terrible exotic

Edited by BingoBangoBungo: 8/5/2015 3:41:17 PM1) put cursor over dregs promise in inventory screen *make sure the gun is not equipped, it must be in your inventory* 2) make sure the gun is unlocked 3) hold square for the amount of time necessary for the game to give you an exotic shard and weapon parts. 4) realize that this gun is a piece of shit and gets you nowhere in destiny, and just about any other secondary (vestian dynasty included) is better. Hidden hand makes this gun trash.

I stopped at #2. Call me a scrub but any gun that I'm advised to shoot at the GROUND with is one for the scrap heap or for use whenever I feel like farting around on patrol.
I did use it though in a control match last night and got six or seven kills with it lol.
Best tip for Dreg's Promise: Don't use it.
-
I really like this sidearm more then I thought. Like the way the bullets take some time to hit and giving me an exotic feeling. This gun after completed bounty is being used more then vestian dynasty
-
Finally, someone who likes the thing as much as I do. It's a great little weapon.
-
I really want one. Once I get some ciphers it'll to Lord of wolves, dregs promise then qbb
-
Here is my advice. 1. Go to the tower. 2. Place in vault. 3. Forget about it. 4. Profit!
-
TIP: just don't even waste your elder cipher on it, garbage belongs in the trash.
-
Tip 1 : place in vault Tip 2 : leave it there until the end of time
