So Bungie just told us..

That the day The Taken King releases. All that gear your grinded for for hours on end and worked hard to get is becoming useless. All that ascending for nothing. Thanks Bungie. I'm cancelling my pre-order. This is just pathetic. We're getting remodelled weapons with different names and colours. Devil You Know and Revelator have same base stats. Red Hand IX and Lone.Rebel have same base stats. Deadshot Luna SR1 and B-Line Trauma have same stats. I'm so happy to dismantle my favourites for identical overall base stats DUPLICATES. Everything will continue to be the same. Yes "move on" to "better weapons". All that changes are the name, colour and a slight adjustment to the models.. The attack value goes up. Yet THE BASE STATS WILL DUPLICATE. Edit: Yes this is my first MMO. Yes I love the weapons I am currently using. Yes I love playing Destiny, gameplay is incredible. Yes I will complain when things piss me off. Edit 2: This is an MMO. This isn't an MMO. I really couldn't care less about the genre. Edit 3: If you're happy spending money for your weapons, that you worked hard for, to become obsolete then good for you. I chase the weapons. You may chase armor, grimoire, experience or enjoy doing the same thing week in week out. Insults don't affect me, in fact it shows how low your intellect is. "They said wait" they shouldn't have to. They shouldn't let people jump to conclusions. They shouldn't let misinformation be released. Edit 4: unlike the majority. I rarely use my fatebringer. Final Edit: After reading many constructive replies and having checked in on Destiny today. I've decided I'm going to have to line up all my weapons and start cutting them out. Keeping all exotics and useful crucible weapons and those I consider to be useful.

 • I think that most people who complain about this game actually like the game or, more to the point, what the game could/should be. They are upset because the do not feel (rightly or wrongly) that Bungie is not doing their best to make a great game but just trying to string along a player base with empty promises of what could be. Couple this with the expediency to which they address code deficiencies that result in benefits to players (cheese, exploits, loot cave, etc) but the slow or non-existent response to player-detrimental bugs (Sword disappearing, heavy ammo, etc) and it can be tough to see Bungie as a company that has its player's best interest in mind. There are quite a few examples of lack of testing (Fatebringer perks, hive disruptor, Queen's Wrath, etc.), lack of forethought (exotics reset after upgrade), lack of story implementation (yes, there is a story, go check the grimoire cards, which aren't in the game), lack of immersion (my guardians don't have individual names, residences, personality?), lack of variety (six dance routines, high level armor makes everybody look the same, etc), lack of transparency (do they acknowledge issues or ignore them, when is Queen's Wrath or any significant PvE Event, why do we get the same strike over and over, etc.), lack of honest/intelligence (I do not buy that Bungie does not control, to one degree or another, Xur's stock. If they do control it, it is disingenuous to say otherwise, if not, they are passing up an opportunity to influence player base in a meaningful way), lack of awesomeness (the plethora of opportunities to be awesome that just aren't taken advantage of, i.e. player's ships, new/innovative bounties, new events, more personality to npc's, a world actually influenced by player's, interactive scenery, better crucible types, etc.) This is a new genre (sort of) trying to support old and new platforms. There are some things that were going to be initially supported that, for whatever reason, were cut back. There are some fixes in the pipeline. Hopefully HoW is delayed for actual improvements and not merely bug-fixing. There is a lot of potential and Bungie says they have a 10 year timeline for Bungie with a significant budget to back that up. Unfortunately, they can't wait until year three to start being amazing. Frankly, I feel that Destiny is merely an extended beta for Destiny 2. Others may feel that way as well. If people stop playing Destiny will they come back for Destiny 2? Would the amount of people who wouldn't return be significant enough to encourage Bungie to have a better product now? A lot of this could be alleviated just by Bungie being open and up front (going back to that transparency issue). Will there be trading in this game? If not, what about in Destiny 2? What about private lobbies/matches for crucible? More vault space? They could just come out and say, 'hey, guys, we want to let you know we are working on more vault space (or whatever issues they are addressing) because we realize that has been a problem issue for some players. We can't say how much of an increase we can implement but plan to have an increase in the next month (or whatever timeframe).' Periodic addresses like this would go a long way to restoring player trust. A successful video game franchise is a collaboration of Company and Players. Bungie needs to learn to be a team player. TLDR: don't read it then.
