I don't like the idea of getting rid of everything in my Vault to basically start over again.
Lots of threads about this topic with no links so I probably shouldn't complain yet.

I agree.... Grind grind grind for all of the weapons and gear I want the most only to be forced to delete it all because the newer games stuff makes it all obsolete. Yes I want new guns and gear I just want to be the person that decides what I move forward with. It's my guardian, no one else's. I personally think they will later decide to let you ascend stuff again so I'll prolly keep some of my older legendaries in the vault just like I kept my strangers rifle.
