Just kinda felt like writing in order to express an idea.
The simulation runs scenarios based off of Ginger's memories of Atlas, specifically the Battle of Odon-9, on the planet's satellite. Radioactive dust clouds envelope the atmosphere, occasionally reflecting magnificent lights as the two warring fleets collide in the distance. Ginger finds himself standing in a large dimly lit room, akin to a hangar, standing beside other Centurion soldiers. He recognizes Ori, Io, and Artemis from teams he had sourced with, each one armed with Type-31 Antimatter rifles, modified to boast a holographic scope, a linear compensator, a flux battery, and a railgun-based barrel. Each one was to be dropped from high orbit, several miles above the surface, and ordered to eliminate hostile ground forces. The simulation in this regard didn't beat historical accuracy, as he faced Ignus, R'Tok, Buggers, and Killiks, all working alongside the Serrak-Hive he was facing. So far, in the numerous times he had faced these enemies, he found himself hopelessly outnumbered, and usually forced to detonate the Fusion generator that powered his armor. Now, however, he felt confident in his ability. He knew the drill by now, creating gravitational distortions directly below him, so that the attraction would warp him around to the surface in a fraction of the time as it would usually. He watched the blur of light as the rest of his squad was deployed, but as he went to jump himself, the ship was rocked and the distortion was cancelled. He found himself in free fall, and took a moment to observe his surroundings before a swarm of electricity passed over him. Approximately 4 terra-joules, enough to turn everything around him into plasma, but his suit was able to redirect lighting. The seething mass of energy was trapped under the hard light shield, and he focused it through his body, directing it into one powerful bolt. When he released it towards the moon's surface, the singular bolt pierced an Ignus Titan, turning it into plasma, but then it went on to spread to all units within a miles proximity. It also split the moon's surface down to the mantle.
Ginger emerged from the simulation, panting heavily. He had just kindled an idea, one that could potentially save his friend. He quickly saved the simulation record into his memory banks, and walked off towards his room for some well deserved sleep.
