They're not going to be useless, are weapons we love will play a huge role throughout the START of the taken king.
Bungie will be slowly fading out the year one legendaries and introduce the year two legendaries that will be stronger. For example if reforging sticks around for weapons we might be able to get a hand cannon very similar to fatebringer but a stronger and better weapon all together.
Exotics of course will stick with us throughout the ten years of Destiny.

The new weapons will not be better, all weapons introduced since the HOW are shit. They are nerfing the best weapons we have. Why ?? To increase the grind! If you believe otherwise you may as well be a hamster on a wheel.

"The new weapons will not be better" Sure, they may not have some of the badass perks on the weapons we have now but they will be better. How else are we supposed to complete the raid and higher level strikes with old legendaries that do less damage?
