Welcome to MMOs and the loot based grind system.
If you didn't realize this when you initially bought in, either you must have never played this type of game before or had delusions of grandeur that weapons you acquired in 2014 would still be relevant years later.

This is not an MMo.... MMO's do not release expansions that wipe out your inventory 3x a year.
-
First of all Destiny is not an mmo. Raids with 6 people does not amount to mmo. Second this is not a traditional grind game. Usually in grind games weapons and armor have different values so you are constantly changing your stuff and don't really have time to get attached to them. In Destiny they all have the same attack power and defense...that is very different. Diablo is definition of grind loot game not Destiny.

Destiny is closer to Guild Wars than other MMOs. Guild Wars was released in 2005 and has 3 major expansions (larger than TTK will be that's for damn sure). Guild Wars is 10 years old (10 year plan anyone?) I can still use gear I got within the first month of Guild Wars in a very effective manner to this day.
-
Perfect example is WoW, anyone who has played it knows what's going on.
-
Destiny is not an MMO. An MMO would have matchmaking.
-
It has mmo concept it. It follows mmo concept.
-
It tries
-
Yeah. My point still stand.
-
Look up the games genre

Facepalm

I'm not wasting my time on an illiterate.
-
Funny how an illiterate has read interviews that states that Activision and Bungie do not refer to their game as an MMO. Also funny how the wikipedia article refers to it as a RpgFps. Hmm also funny how the last guys article defined an MMO but Destiny lacked a lot. Maybe if you played more games you'd know that this game is around the same genre as borderlands, which is not an MMO.

Facepalmed even harder

This game takes almost every element of an MMO and uses them. Even if they want to claim it's an "open world shooter" To me games like Saints Row, GTA are open world shooters. Obviously Destiny isn't set up like either of those games. And the game does have matchmaking for some activities, obviously.
-
That would be like saying borderlands is an MMO. It has MMO aspects: loot, expansions, leveling system, grinding, NPCs, co-op, RNG, focus on end game content, PVP via dueling, class system, talent system However it's not an MMO, it's a shared world shooter Destiny isn't an open world shooter because it's not open world
-
Well as long as you, not the developers, say it's a MMO then it must be a MMO.
-
Ok please explain these MMO elements.
-
Read this article and then you tell me how it's not an MMO. http://www.denofgeek.us/games/mmo/45108/what-makes-the-perfect-mmo

The game's genre is fps and rpg
-
It's has a lot of elements, buts its missing a lot too.

Well Tom I don't think I realised my asshole would be getting lube up with hot pepper paste to get fucked. This must be my first MMO and I am not happy at all. I'm a hoarder and enjoy using my weapons. This is where I get off. I'm not gonna get the dlc although Imma keep playing.
