That the day The Taken King releases.
All that gear your grinded for for hours on end and worked hard to get is becoming useless.
All that ascending for nothing.
Thanks Bungie. I'm cancelling my pre-order.
This is just pathetic.
We're getting remodelled weapons with different names and colours.
Devil You Know and Revelator have same base stats.
Red Hand IX and Lone.Rebel have same base stats.
Deadshot Luna SR1 and B-Line Trauma have same stats.
I'm so happy to dismantle my favourites for identical overall base stats DUPLICATES.
Everything will continue to be the same.
Yes "move on" to "better weapons".
All that changes are the name, colour and a slight adjustment to the models.. The attack value goes up.
Yet THE BASE STATS WILL DUPLICATE.
Edit: Yes this is my first MMO.
Yes I love the weapons I am currently using.
Yes I love playing Destiny, gameplay is incredible.
Yes I will complain when things piss me off.
Edit 2:
This is an MMO.
This isn't an MMO.
I really couldn't care less about the genre.
Edit 3: If you're happy spending money for your weapons, that you worked hard for, to become obsolete then good for you.
I chase the weapons. You may chase armor, grimoire, experience or enjoy doing the same thing week in week out.
Insults don't affect me, in fact it shows how low your intellect is.
"They said wait" they shouldn't have to.
They shouldn't let people jump to conclusions.
They shouldn't let misinformation be released.
Edit 4: unlike the majority. I rarely use my fatebringer.
Final Edit: After reading many constructive replies and having checked in on Destiny today. I've decided I'm going to have to line up all my weapons and start cutting them out. Keeping all exotics and useful crucible weapons and those I consider to be useful.

Dude mmos have been doing this shit for years I'm fine with getting new gear for year two because who wants to be using visions of confluence or fatebringer for let's say another two years it would get boring but you never no there maybe an equivalent to the guns you had before and armour of course
-
All those edits, and you still don't see the point Every game of this genre, considering this game is a FPS MMO, is like this. What's the point of expansion if everyone will just use the same guns? For example, two DLC's in, what was the main PvE weapon? Fatebringer. It's time to move on
-
Why cut your weapons if you cancelled TTK
-
This whole post is run on assumptions "THE BASE STATS WILL DUPLICATE!" You say, but who confirmed this? You.....
-
I wouldn't start deleting weapons. That said you can use legendary s to up grade other legendary s in the same spot. So your old weapons maynot be useless yet man. On second though you like to bitch about minuscule shit so go ahead and delete them
-
Only so many base stat configurations, some stats would just be worthless. Also, you're a whiny bitch
-
Bungie said not to dismantle them yet that they are suppose to be useful somewhere in TTK
-
One good thing is that your favorite crucible weapons/gear will always be relevant. No level advantages means you could take in anything you want!!
-
Edited by Clutch reactzin: 8/11/2015 2:11:31 PMYou don't know that. It's not out yet so stop making conclusions about it. If I used my fatebringer the whole game, I'd get bored.
-
Great post op I feel the exact same way.
-
Deej told us not to scrap our gear. It's posts like yours that spreads half truths around the destiny forums.
-
Scrub...
-
This fixes the weapons Vault Space issue by making you delete your old weapons! You remember playing WoW and deleting everything but keeping your Thunderfury and Shadowmourne because you had bragging rights to those weapons?
-
"MMO" is the reason. It happens a lot in others and it shall happen in Destiny as well
-
Not completely useless.. just wait till next month and you'll see
-
Yea I just keep around what a use the most. Sucks to think leveling the word of crota and doing raids for weapons is pointless now
-
Edited by Row_dog99: 8/11/2015 1:51:27 PMDude take a chill pill this is a good thing, if we used the same damn weapons and armor through pall of Destiny's future expansions the game would get boring. There would be no incentive to play to get the new weapons because your could just accent the old one.
-
I think its funny how people on the internet trick themselves into thinking they're smarter than everyone else.
Insults just show how low your intellect is.
Haha, dumbass.
-
I feel like I'm the only other person who has played an mmo besides destiny ever. This is a standard thing that happens in every mmo so why shouldn't destiny do it
-
A lot of people are missing the point. In year ten we want have more content. Yeah there's gonna be more crap, and more stuff to do. But it'll all give useless rewards.
-
Stfu with the earned weapons
-
Don't worry they'll fix it, one day you'll be able to marry your fate bringer. Idiot, it's called progression, you have something good then get something better and move on because at the end of the day it's an item INSIDE A VIDEO GAME
-
I swear some of you people don't even stop and think for more than 2 seconds to make sure what you're saying actually makes sense before posting this whiney self-entitled bullshit.

Edited by The New Monarch: 8/11/2015 1:13:16 PMWhy do these kind of complainers make it seem as though Destiny is only about the weapons? I honestly do not care about any of my legendaries, the exotics are the important ones. I can't wait to try out new weapons that are being developed with new ideas and mission statements. It's really going to make weapons more interesting and I believe this change is good. The new weapons are probably going to be so much fun to try out and use...I'm at least not going to complain until I've actually tried out the new content. Edit: I realize I just said a lot about weapons even though I ultimately don't think that should be the focus of this game. At the end of the day I just like Destiny. It's fun to play and if Bungie wants to push new stuff I'm just going to have fun with it...I'm happy to grow with Destiny and it's changes and if the game ever becomes something I don't like, well, there's PLENTY of other games to play.

We all know what Bungie told us.
-
It is the way of keeping people chasing after things without having a power creep in the game. Nothing more. You are correct the weapons will be just the same with a new skin. We have gained no ground against the enemies so far and we won't now but since they allowed update of weapons in the last DLC and no one chased the new junk with shank burn they decided to just end it. Not a good way to go about things but it is their sand box and I guess if we don't like it we will just have to move on. As far as I know I am still in for another round but have not and will not pre-order. Want to know a lot more before I send any more money down the line on the game.
