Come September your grind meant nothing
So according to the latest news, you will not be able to upgrade [i][b]legendary[/b][/i] year one weapons/armor. All those dragon strikes for Hopscotch and guess what... there will be stronger ones out. Those fancy adept weapons from trials... pfft sit down, we got bigger and better ones coming. Oh wait, the mighty Fatebringer will be no more. Gotta love the direction this game is heading in. 10 years people this is the plan. Mean while, $1000 later, regrind again.

I love it! The flames are rising in the forums now. So many similar topics all over the place. I might change my name to Firestarter. Keep up the good work. This stuff is gold, especially when bored at work. I need more entertainment. Not sure how long this topic will stay alive before it's nuked like a previous topic I created. I also appreciate the defenders justifying their hard earned time. Keep telling yourself it wasn't all for nothing.
Picture your favorite car... Do you buy the next model each year or do you hold onto it because you love it? Too expensive, no problem. Do you buy new ice cream every week or do you stick with what you love? You have your comforts and so do I.

Why do all the exotics tell a story? How come the second year of Destiny is going to be more story driven and include more weapons then in all the previous dlc‘s combined? As much as you CoD crybabies want to believe it's not part mmo it is and if it's not that's the direction it's heading in. Ps. World of warcraft the biggest mmo ever uses the same formula of getting rid of old weapons every time a new expansion comes out.

It breaks down a year later, even though I only paid $700 for the junker. Was it a waste? God no. It did what it was intended to. As did destiny, it gave us a year of fun, and if you spent it complaining, why are you still here? Those who actually had a remote amount of fun, gained enjoyment out of it, and that's all the game is meant for. Get your panties out of a knot

Ever heard of the phrase "a rose by any other name would smell as sweet?" It applies to video games too. You can call destiny an mmo or not. It doesn't matter what you label it. At its core it's still got the elements of one.

People. Their is way to many similarities for it to NOT be an mmo. Bungie not calling it an mmo was a marketing scheme. The game is a shared world shooter RPG with alot of mmo features. And this game is following the path of an RPG/mmo type game. If you can't accept that then destiny isn't the game for you.

Honestly this stuff is a good thing. I wish raid weapons upgraded but it's ok. The light leveling caused a lot of frustration. This traditional method means time played is not wasted. Which is music to my ears. If I can bring my thunderlord than I'm happy.

My memories of the first year of Destiny are filled with great times spent with my friends, not with my gear. I remember how amazing the feeling of our first Vault of Glass run was. The mystery, the excitement... It was all a brand new experience that I shared with good friends and I cannot wait to experience that again. A lot of people think Destiny is about the gear grind, and if you look at it that way then I can sort of see why you're bugged out. But if you think of it as something to do with friends, then you never end up feeling what you are expressing. There is nothing more appealing to me than all new gear, all new missions, and all new experiences to be had.

Light on armor is irrelevant so now we can all wear whatever we feel like wearing FINALLY breaking the gap of everyone looking the same. And all those powerful weapons we had are no weak because for a much worst threat than before we need more powerful weapons. Hmmm yah I agree bungie f'd up yet again. Thank you for finally steering the game in the right direction!

17 RepliesSo let me get this straight, you expected Bungie to keep releasing content for 10 years and keep all the gear from year 1 relevant? Do you not want to have better gear by then, would you really keep paying for more content if you know that you already have the best weapons and armour available? So many complaints about stuff we haven't even seen yet, welcome to the world of MMOs where strangely like the real world, better stuff always comes out sooner or later.

The old chestnut... Vault space. A game of this scale needs more of it. But, I'm a Destiny tragic... So I'll just keep throwing that money at the screen.

I can't wait to pick up a white scout rifle that is better then any of the six I have now. Then the mighty ghorn that I still don't have will be powerless compared to the white one I get. To funny can't wait.

Personally I like this idea. I don't want myself to be so attached to the same weapon in year two. I literally never use any other legendaries other than Fatebringer, VOC, and BlackHammer. Kind of boring.
