So everyone complains about the price of video games, what we pay now is a lot better than what it used to be.
In the early 80s video games could cost 30 to 60 bucks. So let's go with 45. Adjusted for inflation 45 dollars is the equivalent of 107 dollars today. So even if you bought the vanilla game and 2 dlcs you have still paid less for a video than you would have in 1983. Additionally video games are now much more expensive to make.
In the late 90s a video game could cost upwards of 1 million dollars (which adjusted for inflation is on 1.4 million). By 2010 video games were costing 20 million and upward. Look at gta v, it cost over 250 million to produce. Destiny had a half a billion dollar budget, granted that wasn't all for building the game.
In conclusion we are paying less to play video games but companies are paying more to deliver these games to us.
