Listen, a year ago I purchased destiny for £40 and I have played it on and off every night since day one.
Divide £40 by 365 and the game has cost me just shy of 11 pence a day.
The new expansion at £40 will hopefully give me another year of enjoyable gaming, again for 11 pence a day.
Tell me something else that gives hundreds of hours of entertainment for mere pennies
Round of golf - 4 hours - £40
Trip to cinema - 2 hours - £10
Season ticket to local football club - 30 hours - £500
It's just £40... Honestly, what's the big deal...

Play time doesn't mean a game is good. I completely understand your point however, Destiny had no real competition when it released. The reason people play this game so much isn't because it is a great game. It is because Bungie made this game addicting and added an RNG loot system. No matter how good you are, you still might not have GHorn or Hawkmoon because you haven't been lucky enough. That right there shows how they continously artificially inflate playing time. The fact that 1070 or your hours were grinding would show that. You are entitled to your opinion and I respect that. The gameplay mechanics are really fun. However, Bungie screwed the pooch on a lot of things and continues to have horrible communications with its player base. If Bungie doesn't drastically improve this game with TTK than I know for a fact a lot of people are going to leave.

I'm 38 and have played a lot of video games over the years, none of which I have even come close to spending over 1100 hours on! For me, destiny has been the best value for money piece of entertainment I have ever bought, taken king is just gonna continue it.

Like you I do not understand all the moaning about spending 40 quid on a major expansion. It must be that we brits are better off than our American brothers
-
That's funny since everyone in Europe and the UK and Australia were complaining about price super hard.
-
Not me 40 quid is peanuts. Just must be a lot of skint people playing this game

I'm American and I'm fine with the pricing.
