It's funny how people think more story missions = content.
1. You will not ever replay story missions unless you are in godly dire need of xp or are slightly retarded
2. Story missions will be reskinned content and backwards maps
3. Story and plot will be pathetic and non immersive
So basically, half of the "content" will not be replayed (doesn't have replay value) and will be reskinned.
You are paying for an overpriced "expansion" already. Slash the "story content" and you are being ripped so hard it's like your steroids are on steroids.

Of course it equals content. It's one of the things I'm looking forward to the most.

I would replay story mission for the heck of it. If I want.

I replayed all the halo games missions until my fingers practically fell off, plus all the multiplayer that went with it from lan games to xbox live. What I would have given to be able to change up my weapons and armour and perks from time to time ....but the game play kept me there long after I got blind to what each story mission was about. I must have done the silent cartographer level 100 times alone.I've not got anywhere near the time spent ingame with any combination of story, strike, raid or crucible in destiny yet, but the options and diversity (outside the actual linear pve incidents) is astonishing and I keep finding new ways to do things I've already done. I will gladly pay for ttk and I enjoy the stressful feeling that I won't be able to do all the raids, all the poe, all the bounties, all the daily and weekly challenges in the week before reset and still slay some noobs in pvp because I don't have the time to do it. I only have one character too...man, I pity the time some guys must put in to to run three characters through this repetitive and unrewarding game...

Halo was a great Story and the games were unparalleled for their time.

It's funny how people don't think story is worth money in a game. 1.story allows the game and gamers to have a better picture of the game. 2. Story allows the gaming experience to relevant 3. Story allows the gamers to be a part of something greater. 4. Story is everything in most games. Otherwise, why would you even bother playing for so long?

I don't know who or what the darkness or the traveler is. I don't know who or what I am, nor why am I fighting sentient alien races. I don't know their objective, nor their reason. 2. I don't need a reason to kill a giant bullet sponge. 3. Something greater? Greater than the 6man raids? It's pathetic how we only need 6 people to kill a hive GOD. 4. Story is everything? No. Story is a bonus. GAME PLAY is why I stay. Destiny has god awful everything except for 2 things. Game play and raid mechanics. Nothing else is even subpar. Do you really play for the story? Then tell me, 1. Why did you kill crota, atheon, captured skolas only to kill him while he is armed? 2. Why do you battle fellow guardians when you can battle the darkness? 3. Why, after all we've done for civilization, can we not hear from the speaker about ANY real back story? Do you even replay story missions? Do they have any actual impacts to positive thoughts towards this game? I would love some story. If you actually believe that this game has a good story, then prove it. Tell me everything I yearn to know.

So.. You are saying game story is important to you. You want a good story in games but destiny lacks that as we mostly know. You are unhappy because this game should have better story. That's what I wanted to prove to you. If you say that game story isn't important than you are lying to yourself.
-
In addition, please tell me a game where you play story missions over and over again. Story wise, we do not know what's going on most of the time because I believe that's what the game makers of this game is intended to do. Slowly reveal more on each dlc expansion; kind of like a TV show. So far I've read up on lot of stories and lores behind weapons, incidents ad such. They did a horrible job on implementing to the actual game play but the story is there if we look little closer.

T.V shows dont cost 20$-40$ "Every episode" to let us know whats going on that was kind of a dumb argument

Edited by petterman88: 8/11/2015 4:32:24 PMIn a way they do. Cable shows or even netflix subscription end up costing that much, although there's always streaming. But before I get too deep into it. Cost wasn't what I was referring to when I mentioned its similarity to TV shows- story progression and how viewers slowly find out what happens next + character development. And each dlc comes out about 4-6 months, 20-40 on each of them are not bad at all. I've spent more on lesser things

It's important, but not more than gameplay. I treat story as a bonus. Gameplay is why I buy... a game. I do appreciate a good story, or even a half baked one. But bungie has a half baked plot full of holes. But the plot isn't the issue here. The story missions have no actual replay value. Any mission from super mario 64 has more replay value than these missions. And because you only play them once and never go back, you can't really call that content. And so, even though you were already getting ripped off, take off the story missions, because that isn't content. That's 1 hour of horde mode or 15 minutes of running past enemies. There is no reward to doing any storyline, other than unlocking a raid. No reward+no benefit+no plot+no replay=No reason to play because it simply ISN'T content. Again, my argument here is about the dlc ripping people off, not the terrible story it has.

Your basing this off what evidence?
-
They are introducing a strike. Patrol. The dreadnought. A new social space and more weapons in the entirety of destiny
-
well at least one mission is in a brand new enviorment on Phobos, so no, the story missions will not be reskinned content on backwards maps. at least not all of them.
-
It's still a crappy story mission that will be played off as 'good' content
-
and you know this how? IMO the missions have progressively gotten better and I doubt that trend will change. it won't be the amazing story Destiny was advertised with, but I think they'll be fun, with a decently interesting plot and OK mechanics.
