The Taken King should be changed to The King of Taken your Money.
The DLC is overpriced at $40.
It is not worth $40...Activi$ion....as we ALL well know...is disgusting when it comes to scamming people.
Destiny is on its last leg with milking beyond belief since both Bungie and Activi$ion know that all the good games are coming out soon (SW Battlefront, Uncharted 4, Deus Ex, Doom, Fallout 4, Dishonored 2, Need for Speed 2015, etc.)
This https://youtu.be/Ll3uipTO-4A is the King of Taken your 💰's theme song.
Reduce the price at whats truly worth ($20) or you WILL lose sales Bungie and Activi$on........

The problem is not the pricing of the taken king, the problem is the pricing of previous dlcs. A standard was set. We overpaid then. Let me explain. The taken king clearly has more content than the recent wolves one (i cant even remember what its exactly called because its so lacklustre.) The taken king has more content than the dark below. (More memorable clearly). So how can they be priced the same? Clearly more development time and resources have been used thus demanding a higher cost. If the dlcs were 10 before, it would be 20 now. It is a matter of precedents my dear watson! How can you pay 20 for something with half the content and expect something with twice as much (or more, or less) content to cost the same? We overpaid before. Thus we must over pay now.

Ok, even if they lose sales, it won't be by 50%. Let's say there are 10 million people actively playing Destiny. To make it simple I'm going to use dollars (even though there are those of you who are paying much more around the world which I kinda don't find fair). Even if half the player base were to not buy The Taken King (which won't happen): 5 million x $40 = $200 million Then we have your suggested price of $20: 10 million (whole player base) x $20 = $200 million But the fact is that over half the player base will still buy The Taken King. In fact, I'm positive that at least 75% of people will buy it. 7.5 million x $40 = $300 million And plus, a lot of people are going to also buy the upgrade for the emotes, exotic class items, and shaders. Even if they're going to lose some players, they're still going to be making more than enough money. After all, gaming is a luxury and in my opinion, Destiny has been well worth the $95 so far.
-
Thank you for your concern, everyone has their own opinion, and as for me, i'll buy it whatever others say about it.
-
You worry about us? You worry about our money? If you don't like the game, there is so many others like it
-

Edited by Blighted Yukine: 8/3/2015 2:04:59 PMPeople spent 60 dollars to watch a 30 second fight between some butch chicks. And you're complaining about 40 dollars?
-
I not buying ttk when it comes out so I see if bungie fix anything lol which I bet I right . I left Destiny when eso came out came back last night just play a little iron banner with a old friend with in ten mins I got kick out the game after three time of being kick .I went back to eso which has not kick me once . I learn my lesson trying give this game a sec chance lol

Stop being a whiney little scrub, and take a moment to look at what the game has, and take a look at the time, effort, and money. It took to basically make a new game,
-
Honestly i may end up getting ttk if the content is good enough but my main beef about it is the new subclass and different patrols and what not. Bungie had 4 places to explore in the base game and they couldnt have given us more variety on the patrols instead of the same thing over and over? With regards to the subclasses, they've clearly shown that there should be 3 per class but only gave us 2 so thats obvious cut content which probably should've been mine from the beginning.

I mean if you have a job and get a regular paycheck, 40$ is really not that much money. But it's all about perspective. I feel like there is really no need to complain about 40$. Either spend 40$ or don't buy it and stop playing. The choice is yours.
-
If you don't want to buy it, don't buy it. Quit trying to drag other people into your sad little misery hole. 40 bucks is a joke for the hours of entertainment I will get out of TTK. If you're over the game then move on. I'll never understand how people who aren't into this game continue to post here.
-
I enjoy this game and will continue to enjoy this game. Already pre ordered TTK and still happy I did.
-
I prefer the name "the taken wallet"
-
I went to games stop to pre order the dlc (lol) and they only have the 60$ version on disc. Needless to say I walked.. Wtf 60$ for the game I already own TDB and HOW and TTK and they have the Balls to charge 40$ just for TTK dlc. WTF is going on here?
-
It's funny how people think more story missions = content. 1. You will not ever replay story missions unless you are in godly dire need of xp or are slightly retarded 2. Story missions will be reskinned content and backwards maps 3. Story and plot will be pathetic and non immersive So basically, half of the "content" will not be replayed (doesn't have replay value) and will be reskinned. You are paying for an overpriced "expansion" already. Slash the "story content" and you are being ripped so hard it's like your steroids are on steroids.

40$ is way to much. 40£ is INSANE. Ovrer 70USD im sure. Our brit friends need a reprieve here. And us US too!

Edited by Jamo_3000: 8/3/2015 6:41:28 AMI'm thinking about it

At $80(AUD) for DLC I know I will wear very thin very fast, they lost this day one die hard and a lot of people I play with. I mean if you're a Halo player you know the Crucible stinks(unbalanced beyond belief)(Sorry PS guys) the Raid is the only thing worth having but even then it's not worth that money, the PvP is just too damn easy to get any genuine life out of seriously.
-
Edited by youshalldie111: 8/3/2015 4:55:16 AMYeah this is ridiculous, I don't think the dlc should be 40$ or 20$ maybe I could understand 10, it's complete bullshit that we all spent 60$ on this game and they cut out huge chunks of it to sell it later for 20$ or 40$ each, there is solid evidence that all content from the dlcs have already been in the game but have been locked off waiting for your money
-
If you google "$40 item", and click on a random link, you'll have found something I'd rather spend $40 on.
-
Edited by SergioVengeance: 8/3/2015 5:43:43 AMI agree and I play Destiny a lot. No point in voicing your opinion on here to these mindless, lacking consumer smarts goons. This can be priced at $1000 and these fan girls will gladly hold their ankles with their hands while Activision grabs their Wallet and Bungie..well, Bungie will get "lucky"
-
-
Mmmmmmmnot convinced. Well thought out arguments though. You almost had me at "overpriced".
-
40 dollars for another 300plus hours seems worth it to me.
