The Taken King should be changed to The King of Taken your Money.
The DLC is overpriced at $40.
It is not worth $40...Activi$ion....as we ALL well know...is disgusting when it comes to scamming people.
Destiny is on its last leg with milking beyond belief since both Bungie and Activi$ion know that all the good games are coming out soon (SW Battlefront, Uncharted 4, Deus Ex, Doom, Fallout 4, Dishonored 2, Need for Speed 2015, etc.)
This https://youtu.be/Ll3uipTO-4A is the King of Taken your 💰's theme song.
Reduce the price at whats truly worth ($20) or you WILL lose sales Bungie and Activi$on........

"Well darn, I can't afford 40 dollars, too overpriced! But look at this other 60 dollar game! Now that's cheap!" -Everyone complaining
-
I agree. Especially for UK buyers tho, as $40 is <£40, yet we still pay 40. We're paying more for the same content.

Edited by Cool-Caution: 8/6/2015 1:12:41 PMi got this game at xmass and i have played over 300h on it. no other game comes close to that kinda game time i have played. so en extra £40 for 3-6months is worth it for me. also sins i got this game i have not bought any other game so i have saved so much money. also got the destiny the taken king collector's edition for £55 rather then £80, i could also sell the game with both 1+2 passes to someone and get around £20 (and give them the collector's edition box i got at xmass and keep the destiny the taken king collector's edition box and items for my self. boo ya so the game would only relay cost £35. but i ant going to sell it. going to give it away to a friend. think Bungie idea is we all buy the one that has the full game right up to TTK (in the uk this package is cheaper at £38-39 where TTK on it own is £40) so they give away the game, with part 1 and 2 and get them addicted and then they do the same thing and so on and so on.

http://m.imgur.com/a/xs5fZ. Read this and still come here and say its not worth 40? I think beta pre order ppl should get it free but still.
-
i do think its a whole new game, not necessarily a DLC like you'd get from COD or something, so i have no issue with the money what so ever i do think that if this back fires, it won't be good for them in the future
-
God you haven't even seen the whole damn thing and you idiots are still crying
-
I messed up my profile so its worth 75$ for me and i cant buy anthing becz of it
-
Wow,a helluva lot of deluded morons suckin on activisions titties here.If the game was that good and dlc at a reasonable price, there would be no need to defend it,right?!! Lol
-
im trying so hard to not buy it. i regret getting season pass. but the urge to be better than my roommate or have better s*** than he does sooner really makes me want this but really I'm trying to resist buying it because I know it's going to be a letdown
-
Yeah but you'll spend $40 on some cheap liquor like it's nothing but bitch about this. Ok
-
Prob still pays $20 to go see a two hour movie
-
Let's discuss the price of tea in China instead; atleast then someone might agree with ya
-
How does this help one bit? Btw it costs $75 over here in New Zealand
-
STFU....I'm so sick of you people crying about paying $40 that's essentially the same size as the full game you paid $60 for a year ago.
-
It's not a DLC according to them, it's an expansion. Now I'm not defending not hating on this until it comes out, but I will say that hopefully the content is worth it
-
Definitely buying it now
-
We don't know that it's overpriced because it hasn't been released yet. Bungie/Activision have the right to sell their products for whatever they see fit. Wait until it's been released then watch gameplay & read reviews, if then you think it's overpriced just don't buy it - you have that power and no one is forcing you to buy.
-
I thought OP might be a noob, and he was.
-
Ok, so I've decided to buy something, with my money, and then OP tells me not to buy it. If I have fun playing the game and spend plenty of time enjoying it, then yeah, I'm gonna buy it. I think it looks promising from what I've seen and heard, and I think that I will get my money's worth out of it. If I'm not satisfied, then oh well. I guess they fooled me. But if it has no effect on you, then I don't need to listen to you. So thank you for your opinion, I will be pre-ordering the Taken King for $40 today.
-
Dude seriously. $40 ain't that much in the long run man
-
$20? They've been successful selling the small dlc's for that. Why the -blam!- would they sell one 2 to 3 times the size for the same price?
-
I'd be curious to know the average age of the people who think the price is not too high. I have the money, and think it's too much for the amount of content. I've been gaming since the Atari 2600 and a Tandy pc were your only options. I've watched and experienced the growth of gaming systems verses the price and content of what we got for what we paid. Anyone else remember getting games that the story line actually took weeks or months to beat? Compared to today where even on the hardest difficulty a cod game can be beaten in an average work shift worth of time, or way less. I will still buy it regardless of how I feel about it. I'm a gamer at heart and always will be. I just feel that we are getting the short end of the stick and they know enough of us will buy it anyways. Game on people!

Sucks to be poor ....
-
Shame I paid $10.
-
Im at work right now and earned my DLC before lunch. Besides, I have something in the neigbourhood of 1000h in Destiny. I sure got some value out of my original 60$ (or 599 Norwegian "Kroner"). Im sure ill get continued value out of the new DLC as well.
