Robots.
What the hell else did you idiots expect?
-
In McDonald's defence 15 an hour for fast food work is -blam!-ing ridiculous I work in fast food I'm -blam!-ing lazy But I work my ass off I know I don't do enough work to warrant 15 an hour Maybe 8 Maybe Not 15
-
People gotta do something wrong in their life to end up working at Mickey D's for 20+ years.
-
Will they pay the robots $15 dollars an hour? #RobotRights
-
Get -blam!-ing rekt

Edited by The Cellar Door: 8/3/2015 3:04:19 PMNo job in a McDonald's is worth $15/hour. Maybe the manager. Maybe.
-
HAHAHAHAHA i expected that

Edited by Logfish111: 8/2/2015 5:08:49 PMAutomation is inevitable anyway and one of the main reasons capitalism is unsustainable. Once wealth creation is out of the hands of the people and into the hands of a few robot manufacturers the only option for society will be a socialist state where everybody is dependent on government for everything. This wouldn't be all bad except the people in charge will much prefer this to be a totalitarian socialist state, bringing the system closer to fascism in practice, creating a society that closely resembles the one in George Orwell's 1984.

As much as I hate new technology taking jobs, I find a lot of humor in this. I'm sorry, fast food workers don't deserve $15/hr. There are college grads, cops and fire fighters that don't make that.
-
Doesn't matter if you live in America or South Africa, the world is not going to give you anything.
-
Finally.
-
Good. No good cesspool scum finally getting replaced by something better than them No more section 8 housing for you
-
Good. Get more robots and shit and make them do the work so that people can live life! :D
-
Another reason why McDonalds is going out of business.
-
I'd pay them in monopoly money
-
We already have some of these in Australia. The 2 local McDonald's stores have 4-6 touch screens that are used to order your normal meals and even design your own burger. KFC has had something similar for a few years now as well. As all supermarkets and stores like Kmart, etc have 8-10 self serve checkouts which function in the same manse. They still have human cashiers as well, however these are becoming more predominant. Yep, you unskilled, money hungry assholes are gonna hurt bad.

They don't call it "the inevitable" for nothing.
-
This sounds awesome.
-
They told me America was becoming Europe, but I didn't realize how serious they were being
-
mfw my job is to write software that automates tasks that previously took an entire team of people ages to get half done
-
Skynet here we come!
-
Id rather earn less than work at mc Donald because id have to take a shower before and after every shift to wash off all the grease Not to mention it probably smells bad back there too
-
$15 is just a bargaining point
-
Capitalism and technology cannot coexist. Once machines do everything, only their owners will be making money. The only way that machines will not lead to mass poverty is with a complete overhaul of government. A brand new socialist system would be needed to ensure that everyone benefited from the machine labor.

Automation is going to replace the human worker eventually.
