I love it that any time day or night, I can log on and play with Guardians from all over the world. However, I think it will go a long way towards minimising networking issue if we had the option to filter/restrict Crucible matchmaking to our local country/region or some kind of maximum distance between Guardians.
Whenever I look at Guardians' profiles when the networking feels 'off', they are on the other side of the globe. By being put into Crucible matches against Guardians from England, Hong Kong, Japan and New Zealand (I don't live in any of these countries) no wonder that Crucible networking struggles.
I'm sure that there are players who would like to play with other Guardians from other countries, that they may have real life friends and family far away. These Guardians can have the region filtering switched off by default so that they can continue to play as before.
But for others, having a good connection during Crucible is paramount, and for these Guardians, they should have the option to switch on region/country filtering and restrict their Crucible matches to other Guardians close by.
People may say that by reducing the potential player base for Crucible would mean that you may only get to play 4 matches of Crucible an hour, as opposed 5 or 6 because matchmaking will take longer to find players. I guess that's the side effect that you will need to consider - less matches but better networking conditions, or more matches but with less than optimal networking.

Or they could stop being cheap and get dedicated servers and not use P2P connections.
