Do you report them for lagging? What if they use dial up and can't afford good internet?
Dial up users stand up for your rights!
We have over 1k replies. Wow so many dial up users and mega speed users with red bar regardless.
I feel honored to see multiple threads very similar to mine. Originality seems to be lagging as well now!
Holy guacamole!! We passed 1.2k replies. I think we have a dial up problem here!
That's it I'm done.... 1.3k replies. My internet is dying over here. Too much bandwidth being hogged by this app. Please stop replying and no bumps! Red
bar out⇒
Damn it someone necro-bumped this..🏁

I watch the connection. If it spike down a lot at suspicious moments, then I report.
-
I may be a bit more cautious with my reporting. This past week we had a team member who was always red bar, but not cheating. We generally didn't report other players because he affected a good chunk of the lobby. However, I will report someone who is lagging so hard that they dance while I shoot them, they stop, shotgun me and move on to the next person. That's clearly not normal lag.
-
Yep, AT&T is trash for me.
-
I red bar due to bad connection where I live, I will only report someone else red barring if they lag during games and somehow get to the top of the leaderboards

Edited by docalvaran: 8/6/2015 7:28:34 AMi don't really mind them since most of them can't hit you anyway. unless they are intentionally doing it to take advantage. you can clearly see that when they can't be killed and they are on top of scoreboard. meaning he only lags out on opponents screen but not on his. usually when one person lags out his opponents lags out too making it impossible to kill each other.proof of this is noticeable in trials when they can kill your whole team and making them invulnerable if it is intentional. but if not they won't be able to hit you too, like when you stab or punch this guy 10x and he doesn't die, during that time he could have killed you before you can stab him 3x but he didn't, meaning he couldn't hit you too.
-
Reporting someone "bad connection" is not the same thing as reporting someone for "cheating."
-
Dial up? Are you in a 3rd world country?
-
If you can't afford a connection that's good don't buy multiplayer games. I will not let you eff up my multiplayer experience. It's like buying a car but not being able to afford fuel...
-
destiny should put laggers all together and split the good connections together.
-
I still believe that the Trials ping-based connection should have been a thing before the game even came out as a base function considering we all are paying for multiplayer. Effectively we're paying for bad experiences with laggers. If you put people with relatively similar connection speeds together you won't have Iron Banner level lag where people are teleport in halfway across the map.

I'm a dial up user. I pay $125 a month for high speed internet just for this game. I still occasionally "red bar". I think bungies servers are to blame....
-
The game says on the box that you need a high speed connectoon!!!
-
I'm one of these poor souls. I live in a rural area, I'm 10 miles from the nearest paved road so internet isn't too great. But I still love to play.
-
I don't report it unless I acctualy think they are lag switching in trials.
-
1.3 k huh?
-
-
People still have dial up?!?!?! I will report people skipping around, "teleporting", frozen, etc and they have a red bar. Most red bars may take a few more shots but you are still able to kill. So its more then just a red bar that gets my bad connection nod.

For one crucible is P2P not server driven. Also yes report red bars but you have to be smart about it. If I run into a person I am shooting then dies secs after I stop they have a issue. So far this weekend 100% of time its been red bar while rest of the players are green. I always give people some slack thinking it could be temporary. If I see same issue later I check their connection. If its still red bar I report. Bad Connection is a reportable offense.
-
Dial up seriously isn't a thing anymore, right?
-
Only valid once you get up to 56K replies.
-
What? So you report a person for a bad internet connection? That's beyond stupid. Bungie should put this condition in the front of their next Destiny release and see what it does for sales. And I don't trust the red bar icons, most of the time I still think it's Bungie's inadequate servers and connections causing poor overall connections. Blame the player has been the go to option since day one.

Chase the -blam!-er around the map
-
In IB the other day the lag was crazy. Looked at everyone's connection and every single person was red bar but one. He was yellow. What can ya do but play on...
-
I don't report people just for having a red bar unless it is actually effecting the match (usually it does). It is a shame that many places don't have a decent ISP but you can't blame people for not wanting to play with you. Those red bar people should only be put in matches with other red bars.

I live out in the country so the connection is slow. And because I want to play a game I'm a bad person? It's kinda -blam!-ed up to be honest.
