I don't think these kind of threads help. For a couple reasons.
1. If you didn't spout verbal diarrhea at them during the stream then you have nothing to apologize for. Stop pretending like you're one of the precious few "good men" in a sea of evil misogynists.
2. This was the fault of a small number of immature attention seeking people, who you are now giving more attention to, and incentivizing them to continue.

It happens to women because they're women. If someone harasses a guy on Twitch you can guarantee that it's not because he's a guy.

So? It's because his <insert certain unchange-able characteristic such as race/gender/sexual orientation> or for personal reasons or for the act of trolling. Why is this important?

Because you shouldn't be discriminated against for your race/gender/sexuality. If someone's insulting a female gamer for some arbitrary reason that isn't about her gender then I'm fine with that, but that's hardly ever the case.

Most "girl gamers", which why do you need to add girl to gamer you are just a gamer, expect to be respected even when they do extremely poorly. In what has been a meritocracy culture since its start that just doesn't fly. And when they get called out they want to use being a female as being protected and above reproach.
