I wouldn't say die. I don't like the way activision treats the game with tons of dlc and preorder bonuses, and the annualization, while supported by those who buy it every year, has also led some players to feeling isolated or left behind when the next CoD comes out.
The game does have solid gameplay though, and a lot of people really enjoy it. I think their time as king may come to an end soon, as their sales have also begun to plateau. I say let CoD do its thing. Don't support it if you don't like it :).

Edited by Doctor Cox: 8/1/2015 2:44:53 PMThe problem with that is that the quality of the game has plummeted since WaW, however, it makes a shitload of money, so every other FPS tries to copy it so they can make money too. The franchise needs to die so some measure of innovation can come back to the shooter market. Before our only hope for that was Battlefront, but DICE managed to fuck that up. So until these cash cows finally die we're going to be stuck in the same stagnant bullshit.

Edited by Tuxx: 8/1/2015 3:00:39 PMThey're not going anywhere. The reason why CoD sells well is because it has solid multiplayer. The quality of the game isn't dminishing, just their ideas. The single player is stupid as hell, but people don't buy it for that. I don't see a lot of shooters copying CoD, so idk where that claim is coming from. Rainbow Six siege, Ghost Recon Wildlands, Battlefront, and Halo 5 aren't copying CoD. The Franchise has reached its plateau or is nearing it, but to say a game with as big of a following as it has must die is a bit much. I'm skeptical of the way Battlefront looks, but I'm not going to judge a product I haven't had my hands on, and neither should you.
Don't support it if you don't like it :).
What do you mean?
-
I guess what I mean is if you don't like Activision's practices, don't buy DLC, don't preorder, and don't buy the next CoD game when the one you're playing now is fine. That or don't buy CoD at all. It's not really a great solution considering one person isn't going to make a difference.. but there's not much else we can do as consumers unless we take up game journalism and create a Cobra Commander character like Angry Joe, haha.

I meant what did you mean as I didn't say it should die, I asked if others thought it should.
-
Not sure what you mean. I don't think CoD is still contributing anything new to the fps world if that's what you mean.
-
My point is I never once said it should die in OP even though it hasn't contributed much since MW2. I asked what others thought, your responses before it seems you are saying if I don't like it I shouldn't buy it. Maybe I misunderstood and you meant others shouldn't buy it if they didn't like it. =}

Edited by Tuxx: 7/31/2015 1:22:20 AMOh I wasn't directing it towards you or insinuating you said it should die. I was just generally answering the topic of "..should it die?", and giving my thoughts on it. All is good my friend.

Sweet I thought I just misunderstood, that's cool dude =}
