The Speaker came right down the line,
he looked at us and swore,
a sorrier group of ragged scutts
he'd never seen before.
He said we'd never make it
and he said it was a shame.
But on that day in Templar's Cave
by god we won our name.
The vex they came from underground
they swarmed to take us down.
By god the field was black with them
and our special was all gone.
Fisch, he called us to his side,
the DoD Striketeam,
and asked if we would chose to fight
or choose instead to flee.
We disobeyed our orders
when the Speaker said retreat.
Fischer laughed and said
"By god we'll see who's the elite!"
For the Travelers best had broken faith.
The guardians had fled.
It was the best of DoD
that stood and fought and bled.
The Speaker safe back in the Tow'r,
could not begin to see,
that honors price is paid in full
so glory can be free.
We took our stand in Vault of Glass,
6000 fighting men,
but when the Templar's smoke had cleared
just 6 walked out again.
The Traveler did not make that stand.
It was the DoD,
who stood and fought and died,
and paid the price for mutiny.
So give a cheer for Fisch's crew,
The DoD Striketeam.
The best who fought in Templar's Cave.
The grunts like you and me.
