Iron banner grief
I've faithfully answered the call for every banner since i found out it's worth. but that was unbearable.
I just witnessed a room full of people beating on each other like a bunch of neanderthals hungry for sabertooth meat with a kill or 2 being the only result. Me and my friends officially called it quits after day one. unless I see some kind of recognition of the lag in patch/update notes/ a fix to the MTU fiasco. That's enough banner for me. and frankly. battlefront begins to sound more alluring as time goes on
As a player who happens to be losing love for a game i genuinely enjoy. I'd like recognition that bungie is actually listening when an average player such as myself makes it clear that Crucible; a place I've much enjoyed, has become a sad downtrodden lagfest lately. Sadly it seems to take a rick roll to get any attention at all on these forums. Suppose im just another squeaky joint on the ol' train I guess...
Too giving to say the "squeaky wheel" metaphor I find. when its clear. the average player isn't

Stop thineself from reply guardians. Bungie (after this post and many others like me) went on twitter acknowledging all the many problems I had listed above. This is from a previous banner. and currently. Other then the odd red bar player or two. my experience has MUCH improved
I don't want to have to respond to an old post tho, haha. live and let forums post die fellow guardians

Not to keep hopes up that Bungie will fix the issue OR if Activision even cares (greedy bastards they all are). I was told that they fixed the lag issue for the Controlled playlist for Iron Banner event, why for one playlist & not all of them you wonder...

1 ReplyThe first two IB's i played when since launch were great! I really enjoyed them. But IB now should be renamed to lag switch banner. Control has always been a hacker/cheater haven, and now IB has become that very same nightmare.

With laggy servers and the down right lag switchers that play Destiny, I've moved back to playing old games more and Destiny less. I found new love for Dust 514, Skyrim, Boarderlands, Risk Fractions, Prototype(1/2), Fallout: New Vegas. Bungie has made no attempt to fix anything other than what the PvP-er's whine on and on about, so why play their game?

I used to like iron banner. It used to be fun and had loads of variety. The last 2 or 3 have just been awful

1 ReplyThat happened to me in a regular control match. This one guy I shot, punched, and punched and nothing. I finally gave up and killed everyone on his team but him. It was crazy though.

2 RepliesWorse than the lag is the horrible design choice of the HoW era iron banner gear. It's just vanguard gear with swirly tree shit. I logged on yesterday hoping for a cool warlock helmet. Nope. It's the same idiotic unicorn looking dump that the vanguard rep has. At least the old iron banner gear was different.

The first couple IB events weren't to bad really enjoyed them, but the last 2 plus this last one before TTK have been 90% unplayable. This last IB now before TTK my first 7 matches are already started with no chance for comeback everyone has super's and heavy and here I come landing my ship in this crap. Just not fun this way and I don't really care about a blam'in medallion

4 RepliesI am an Iron Banner vet myself, however, unlike the overly loud minority who says that Bungie does not care is far from the truth. It is a fact that they indeed already know what is going on and are more than likely assessing strategies to handle this situation from their end. As for the people posting how to do it on these forums they need to be banned from the forums because they are not helping anyone they are merely exacerbating an already bad situation.

I haven't played any iron banner. "Real life" has gotten in the way again as it does sometimes and plus as a day 1 beta player I've already got a spear, timurs lash, and IB armor. If I play pvp this week it will just be regular crucible and trials.

I am not one to complaine about lag as i hardly even lag, but this week is just full of teleporting players. But i had fun, was playing on pantheon and popped my blade dance and this guy was kagiing the entire game use blink to run away he literally blinked 4 times with 5 seconds and got away. I wasnt nad though because i was dying from laughter because just witnessing that was hilarious!

5 RepliesMy friends and i lost a game and did poorly, the guy at the top of our team (some random) sent me a message saying "reported all" "why be bad and play IB?" "enjoy your ban! :D" Damn nolifes. Our stats were better than his anyway lol

1 ReplyLast night was worse than normal but I've noticed thigns being bad in PvE all week too to the point you can just sit and watch connection bars bounce around. Last night in a match both teams went red for a bit and everyone seemed to teleport than suddenly it was back to normal, then i landed in a match with no people and the enemy taking over the points. That one was odd as the game said everyone had a green connection. I got out of there fast as it was too Twilight Zone for me lol

Maybe the lag is just yours or somebody your playing with bad internet connection I haven't experienced any lag in iron banner at all (Or it could be a lag switch)

Edited by CaptxnChaos: 7/29/2015 6:11:33 PMIron Banner is usually more laggy than regular Crucible but this month's has by far been the most noticeable. Never before have rounds been literally unplayable this often, I just leave in the beginning of the round of everyone has a red bar.

I've played every IB on all three classes to rank 5, but this is madness, I'm a die hard IB fan but I can't take it anymore...
