how to catch a lag switcher

things are looking grim for the crucible, as each week passes more lag switchers and MTU abusers join the fray and ruin everyones time and effort. well i'm here today to offer some tips for bungie to implement to combat these annoying rapscallions and i'm also open to community input so let us begin! Edit: ping watch idea currently under rework the recording method - this one could be a simplistic method working two ways so i'll start with the bungie method - basically this would be for every player you report in the crucible, a replay of the match from the reported players perspective and your own will be sent to bungie displaying the - ping rate at the time in the replay - connection color - Internet speed - weapons used(to avoid weapon glitches like thorns final round bug) - armor and perks being used(to avoid another golden gun glitch problem) this would be sent to bungie for review and they decide if the player is legitimately cheating or if its a false report the secondary thing for this to work and this part is optional would be to make these matches viewable by the community and let people sort them out themselves for bungie to find easier Example: recording: 0003325 map: pantheon gametype: trials recording shows billy007 is clearly using a lag switch and is popping in and out of existence in the game from the other players perspectives, and is also shown running into walls not taking damage, - at this point players would bump this as legit and bungie would make the final decision - other wise they would down vote for false reports or accidental reports, and every month the videos would be dumped for the next month of incoming reports. any other ideas i find i will add after here and as as i said before i accept others ideas as well. edit:so it has come to my attention that the ping idea is flawed in many ways i never claimed to be a networking professional and as i said i am open to new ideas as well as improvements to current ones

 • I log into destiny on ps4, and various things on my laptop, about 8 or 9 every morning. I have a very steady ping/upload/download until about 4 in the afternoon. About that time, everyone in the apartment complex starts getting home from work, and by 6-7 pm there are hundreds of people around me logged into the Internet within a few hundred yards of my apartment. When this happens, I usually see a decrease in up/down times and a higher ping to most servers. But, after 10 at night, everything returns to normal as everyone around me goes to bed. So, by your reasoning, I should be banned for a rise in ping, or stop playing destiny at peak hours of Internet use in my area.
