Users of the Companion app and Bungie.net website should take precautions to make sure your account doesn't become vulnerable
Companion app:
-It is possible for users to log in to your account through the companion app if left unlocked. When using a phone or tablet be sure to lock your devices. People can get access to them and manipulate your character inventory, post bad threads and other malicious things. All of which can result in dire consequences with Code of Conduct and your inventory items!
Bungie.net (from web browser on phone or pc)
- Be sure to user lock your PC with a passkey.
- Never save your PSN or XBLA account password to the browser and never enable auto-sign-in. This is especially important rule when using public computers, school computers or work computers (sometimes even personal computers if more then one user uses your home computer!). This can leave your account vulnerable to tampering in areas such as inventory, forum posts and Bungie.net account settings.
-Another tip is to use Incognito mode/ Private Mode. Various browsers provide a way for you to have your browser history and data to be deleted as soon as you Exit out of the Browser. Check your Browsers Settings for more information on this matter as there are many browsers to choose from.
Game Consoles:
-For protecting your console itself you may want to use a passkey which has been mentioned quite extensively. Another method is to disable auto-sign-in feature this prevents friends from booting up your console and logging into your destiny account thereby deleting a character because they want to start fresh:
