So recently 343i announced that Halo 5 Guardians won't have split-screen multiplayer.
What are your thoughts on this, considering split screen played a huge part in the success of Halo and why many gamers still love the games today.

Because apparently the 50 other threads about this same topic weren't enough.

Split screen was more important back when online gaming wasn't as stable. Sure, it's important to Halo's history, but I don't think lacking split screen will ruin the game. If removing split screen gives them freedom to provide top notch graphics as they claim, I won't be miffed.

Doesn't affect me, therefore I don't care to be truly honest.
-
Recently? Hasn't this been known for a month or more?
-
It's not a big deal. My brother doesn't like Halo and I only used split screen to test out my forge maps anyways.
-
Not a big deal. They'll add it in an update eventually with a 30fps decrease. Split screen is fun and all, but if it makes the single player experience that much better, it's worth it.
-
They told us this months ago, what the hell do you mean 343 recently posted it
-
Did you just post this? Have you been under a rock?
-
It eventually get added at the expense of Fps. Me and thr guys i used to splitscreen now just do co op over live, yeah we can't see our reactions, but we still joke around.
-
For someone like me, it's no big deal but, for those who live with siblings or gf/bf /wife/husband and don't want to fork out the money on another system it's a huge deal.
-
If they put the feature in at release then people would have complained about them not having 60fps consistently.
-
Doesn't bother me. I haven't played split screen in about 5 or 6 years. Not that needed of a feature anymore for most people.
-
I've just been having friends bring tvs and xboxs over for awhile because it's more fun that way.

Not a big deal. With online gaming becoming as prevalent as it has, split-screen gaming has been on the decline for years. I argued the point extensively before Destiny launched and it was revealed that Destiny wouldn't have split-screen, and now the Halo franchise is following suit. More and more games are going to opt out of providing split-screen, and the reasons are valid. It's just the evolution of gaming as technology and online gaming improves.

Well that's dumb, but I'm not surprised.
