Deep in the galaxy, there is a system by the name of Europa. A band of soldiers, mercenaries, and grizzled veterans drift through space going from mission to mission, aiming to rid the world of evil and get rich in the process. They are called Fireteam Cyprus, and ride through space on the Cyprus Cruiser.
History: The group had a rough time on Mars, fighting against armies, hostile wildlife, and inhuman beings. Not to mention the high tension and near all out war between certain members of the team. The crisis was averted by peaceful words and logical actions, these ideas would usually be Murph's job to bring about, but he was alone on a planet called Zorada. He wandered, wondering if anyone would ever come for him, or if they wanted to, or if he even wanted them to, after his hostile actions, and the murder of a man named Felix. The crew (or most of them) however, shook it off, knowing he was not in his right mind when he did these things. They came after him, and we're now scouring the planet for him. Following different trails of evidence led the group to a large sinkhole, protected by a barrier. They were able to lift it by passing Trials, which they later learned were just tests made up by Providence to be sure they were prepared. They were moments away from getting through the barrier, yet they had no idea what they were stepping into...
After what seemed like forever, the group found Murph, only for him to be torn from them again, for the world had to be saved. Murph did not survive, and is now recorded as KIA.
The group moves on to what they hope are greener pastures. However, turns out they end up working for an old foe, Del Fino. Phantom is captured, and Minerva and Python are stranded on a nearby planet. With the Genesis out of play, Del Fino musters the strength to attack the Axion Cruiser. While they are recovering, Scout, an old friend now on the side of Del Fino, is found lurking the ship. She is captured and interrogated, and the team now prepares a full scale attack to finish Del Fino once and for all, and rescue Phantom in the process.
The rescue did not go as planned, losing many members, including Python and Phantom, leaving Minerva as the last surviving Genesis. Feeling alone, she soon fled from the team, and was not found for long after. Her fleeing caused strife within the Axion mercenaries, along with the loss of their role models and leaders, and eventually led to it being disbanded.
------------------------------------------
10 Years Later...
After the loss of the Genesis, (Minerva missing and the others presumed dead) the Axion crew fell apart. However, a new team began to form, gathered by the same allure of treasure and adventure that once gripped the members of Exalin and Axion.
Once the team had gathered on the Cyprus cruiser, they located a base used by the Exalin team long ago. They found clues pointing to the existence of Genesis, but we're soon distracted by a mission requiring them to investigate a destroyed city. They found the creature that did it, and eliminated it. Or so they thought...
Stuff happened that OP has no idea about because he was afk. Feel free to PM a short summary of this section of the story if you have time.
Bored, most of the team look into jobs at the bounty board. One job sparks an interest in something bigger... Joshua and Vilnaks return with a hostage, reporting that a group of mercs was sent to retrieve information and possibly eliminate Cyprus. Out of leads, they continue to work on the case of the biggest assassination of the decade. They discover many pieces of evidence pointing to Genesis. But not just one, all of them. The group is stumped. Before they can think of a new plan, a large missile tears the Cyprus out of the sky. The ship's pieces land scattered, separating the crew into smaller groups. They are forced to fight harsh conditions, scavenge for food, and even build their own shelter in some cases. They wonder who's doing the ship's destruction was, and why the planet was deserted. Soon they found themselves fighting antimatter copies of the Genesis, and Minerva. After a long and hard battle, Minerva is struck down after activating all limiters at once. She is left to bleed out as the crew leaves, finding a new cruiser and claiming their reward after confirming Minerva was the assassin.
After drifting for what seemed like no longer than a few hours, but was in reality probably a few days, the crew gets reports of massive rocks called "Leviathans" crashing into planets, destroying most of them with the initial impact, then spreading a blue crystal that gives off an extremely powerful radiation called Phazon. The remaining people on these planets began to rise and mutate beyond recognition. Reports also came in saying Minerva was spotted attacking multiple GF bases. Perhaps the Phazon had gripped her. Seeing that stakes were higher than ever before, Cyprus convinces the GF to release Phantom temporarily, and he is convinced to create an entire second wave of Genesis supersoldiers. Even with their new upgrades, Cyprus still struggled to face the beasts they encountered, the Broodmothers, the Beserkers, each nigh impossible to kill and creating more with every victory. The crew is lucky to find someone immune to the virus, the name for the immunity and manipulation of Phazon later coined as Phazite. Her name was Tanya. Python spent too much time near her, exposing himself to the infection, and killing three: the Spartan Jackie, a high ranking officer of the ship, and his own wife, A'Karo. He fled soon after, with his wife's body.
I went super duper afk and missed like 3 arcs.
The group wanders, somewhat wondering what it would be like to have a real home again, like the empire, and not just some ship that'll crash next time they get near a big bad guy. They finally think of an idea that was hiding in plain sight, the Old Empire itself. Despite its destruction and abandonment, the team sets a course, determined to retake their home. Once there, they are ambushed by a massive Dread force, and sacrifice themselves to eliminate the Dread once and for all.
The Federation and Rebels have a war. The Federation wins(?).
A new team, The Infinite Pioneers, are assembled at Crux. They soon become the first humans to leave the Milky Way, exploring a brand new galaxy where mankind had never been before. They are attacked by some pirates after trespassing into their space, and some are taken to fight in an arena. Those taken manage to escape back to the Infinity.
Bounty Board
The bounty board contains missions and jobs. Three are added each time it updates. These jobs can be tackled together or alone, unless specified by the bounty. Bounties can be done at any time, despite the crew's situation, as bounties are placed in a time where the crew isn't busy. Bounties will have little to no effect on the main story (other than the money) unless marked as important.
Manually Input Bounties:
"Get the Bounty Board working."
Reward: "Bounties."
Placed By: Calleach
Details:
Three small metal beams sit beside the board, used for linking a location to the board. When placed, they will self-construct a beacon for bounty placement.
There are three nearby planets with intelligent life within range of gunship flight.
The first, a volcanic planet with large rock creatures who, while being durable and able to survive in the hot conditions, are definitely a stretch on the word "intelligent".
The second, the planet from before, with the ability to reconstitute metals. They seem both smart and friendly, and much could be to gain by linking them into the board. -TAKEN BY AVELINE
The third, a very earth-like planet with somewhat human-like entities, much taller, and much more primitive. They fight amongst themselves a lot, and there seem to be many tribes. Finding safe, neutral ground to place the beacon would be extremely beneficial, but may be challenging as well.

The Beginning... Helsing-Northeastern Hemisphere, Outpost Naraxis On a planet far outside the Milky Way galaxy, a long time into the future, our story seems to start again....with a planet, an outpost and the need to explore.... Patrol duty. It sucked. Boring and a waste of time, Thomas had been assigned it for the next month. He would much rather be training with his buddies, but no, be had to go and be an idiot and start that food fight. Pure stupidity. His father would've beat his ass for doing anything stupid like this. At least then it'd take less time. Standing out in the hot, humid weather of Helsing's Northeastern hemisphere, in full body armor. He had customized it with its color, armor plating and helmet design when he was assigned this base. Damn big wigs want more planets and space to build factories and shit. This was a nice planet though, rather beautifully formed jungles and landforms worked together to make a wondrous view from his looking post. He had his rifle in his hands, heavy and powerful, pistol at his side, knife across his chest and ammunition magazines hanging from the armor around them. At least he had music to help kill time. It was old music....really old. Earth music his grandfather loved. It was pretty decent...some band called Led Zeppelin.... Technically impossible as lead is an extremely thick substance and can't, in way, be used to create a zeppelin. There's a sign on the wall... Movement, off to the right. Probably just the wildlife. But she wants to be sure... The movement stops, as if it knows it's been spotted. He aims, his helmet doing a thermal scan of the area he aimed at. Cause you know sometimes words have two meanings... Out of the corner of his eye, he sees a flash of black, seemingly hoping over the wall. He turned quickly, aiming at where it would be. And she's buying the stairway to heaven... The part of the song he liked most was coming up. The speed of the song picked up, the tempo as people called it. The soft, stringy instrument got louder and distorted. He saw it. A creature he'd never seen before. On two legs, somewhat humanoid. All black with an elongated, smooth skull, no eyes, sharp teeth and a pointy tail...like a scorpion. Thomas fired, alerting the whole base that they were under attack by these....things. And as we wind on down the road... He gets hit from the side, just being able to kill the first creature before he falls. His rifle begins to slip away but comes right back, thanks to his rifle sling. He hits the ground with a loud thud, the fifteen foot fall wasn't an easy one to take, even with armor. His helmet was ripped off his head, as he began to turn to what tackled him. Another one of those creatures. Slobber and slime dripped from its mouth, it's long tong whipping around with a sinister feeling. Our shadows taller than our souls... He pulled his knife, letting out a battlecry and stabbing the creature in the skull. It's blood dripped and fell on him. Bone and brain matter as well. There walks a lady we all know... He grabbed his helmet from the creatures hand and put it back on, looking around as the HUD looked over the situation. Who shines bright lights and wants to show... It didn't look good, bodies were everywhere. Men and women he trained with, became friends with, were in pieces around the training yard. How everything still turns to gold... And if you listen very hard, the truth will come to you at last! He began to fire at what he could, killing a few before having to reload. He ran for cover and got on comms with command. To be a rock... "Command, this is Staff Sergeant Thomas Weiss. The training yard is under attack by unknown hostiles, do you copy?" No answer, but a howl of pain and agony from the main building of the base. And not to roll... "Shit..." He tried distress signals, allowing anyone to hear. He needed help, and was likely one of the only survivors on the base. "This is Staff Sergeant Thomas Weiss of Outpost Naraxis! I need help! My team and friends are dead and I'm alone here!" He sent coordinates with the distress signal, hoping for the best. And she's buying a stairway to heaven... The song ends.
Open, if your character is on the base, help out, just be wary of a violent and stealthy enemy. If not, start from the outside and push inside, liberating and helping any survivors you can. Work together. If you try to run this alone, these.....creatures will rip you to shreds. If you work together, you'll get through....
Daddy Issues... A man was standing in the hangar bay, no ship brought him in, no one saw him walk in, he just seemingly "appeared". He had green, deep eyes, with dark brown slicked back hair and a matching trimmed beard, a large, faded scar trailed across his face. He wore a buttoned up black leather trench coat with a grey undershirt and black dress pants and boots. He sighed, his mere presence grasping the eyes of many. He began to walk to the Training Room, slowly taking his time as if he was thinking something. Even a Hyper-Evolved Brain cannot comprehend the words to say to long lost family, so he decided he was going to wing it. Once he made his way to the Training Room, he saw Legend, checking his Gauss Rifle. Their faces look almost identical, the man's face just slightly more worn. It was obvious they were family. The man spoke, his voice sincere. "Son..." Legends face immediately shot up and stared. It was a mix of anger, rage, sadness, elation, happiness and confusion. Of course, the anger took hold of Legend first. "Why?" He exclaimed angrily. The man, supposedly his father, remained silent. Legend stood up, his face twisted. "WHY?!?!" "Son!" The man's order silence Legend. "Look, let's not get off the wrong foot. We both know if we start yelling at each other your gonna crash this damn ship." Legend sighed angrily. "What. The. Hell. Do. You. Want?" "Your respect." "Ha! Oh sure! If it was that easy! For a son to forgive a father who abandoned him when his mother died!" "I did not abandon you!" "YES YOU DID!" Legend slammed his hand down on a bench next to him, causing the metal to embed itself into the ships floor. His father sighed, as the bench repaired itself as does the floor. "I'm sorry. About what happened." "You think a sorry can change the past?" "No. But it better damn well have you looking at the future." Legend glared at him. "Dad... Kent.... Whatever the -blam!- you wanna be called. I joined the merc business to forget the past, I soon learned that all it did was dig it up. Look, my life has been a living shithole for the past 10 years, so I suggest you -blam!- off." "You think your life is hard, son? I traveled through dimensions trying to find you, it's not easy when your the only mind I can't read. I killed a lot of people, did a lot of things I'm not proud of, and they all come back to haunt me every time I try to get some sleep." "So, you found me. Yay. Can you -blam!- off now?" "Son, you expect me to just leave the most important person in my life when I haven't seen them in over 10 years?" "Yep." Legend sits down and goes back to his rifle. Kent crosses his arms, his nostrils flaring. He soon calms down, and smirks. He sits down on a bench next to him, and stares at his son. Legend notices and stares strangely at Kent. "Uuuuuuuumm...." His father remained silent for a moment, then spoke. "Wanna get a drink?" "Yeah." And they do just that. After a couple, non-intoxicating bottles of beer, the father and son sat down at the Bar, talking things over...
open...
Space, near the infinity The ship's sensors detected a slip space jump nearby and visual scans showed that space itself distorted as a ccs class battlecruiser dropped into real space. The hull markings showed its name as the Glorious Redemption, the latest Intel showed that it was a sangheili vessel, part of a friendlier faction. The ship launched its contingent of banshees and Seraphs. It was unclear why at the moment but the weapons and shields were up as well. Soon though all became clear as a Jiralhanae ship of similar size appeared behind it. The two ships engaged and the glow of plasma filled the stars. Shields flickered with each hit and fighters danced in the sable background of space. The sangheili shipmaster opened a frequency with the Infinity, his proud and deep voice filling the comms. "Humans, we have come to warn you, the Jiralhanae are attempting to encircle you, we broke through their lines to warn you but more ships will come."
open
...And I Want Them Now. | Computer Dock 12, 2300 Hours Cain stalked a maze of computers, wandering aimlessly to the naked eye— but he had a purpose here. [Cold... Cold... Cold... Warmer... Warmer...] The security guard saw nothing, having been knocked out with a swift pressure point, and the camera saw less, static obscuring the screen of whoever was on the other end due to pinpoint interference by Cain. He walked with a Splicer in one hand, and Eric's Data Knife in the other. [Alright then... Where are you?] He was on a hunt for answers... Specifically, Exalin. The Mind at its core was a revolution in Ignus technology, able to monitor trillions upon trillions of objects at an atomic level within its atmosphere at once, as opposed to the usual macro scale utilized by other Minds. The only flaw was the general radius; apart from its self destruct sequence, its area of effect was much, much smaller— one planet as opposed to the Minds which monitored entire galaxies, even universes. And that's where his problem lied. The Mind had engineered abominations against nature in planet and populace, resulting in an environment no sane man or machine would walk upon. So why did they? [There you are...] Cain twirled the blade, hovering it over the plastic-alloyed surface of the computer as orange lights intertwined with his tool of choice. He needed to be precise with the operation, or he'd pick up the wrong file. [Here's hoping the theories hold...!] Thrusting in the blade, it seems to melt the computer, as if it were flesh instead of plastic. The "wound" is outlined in a neon orange, and similarly colored pathways branch out, not unlike that of a child's etch-a-sketch. And as he predicted, the computer detected nothing wrong. [Alright, you blithering meat-sacks. I want answers...]
Open to Wilson.
The Torch Hammer Infinity; Helsing Orbit The Main Hangar of the Infinity was abnormally large, built to accommodate ships of far greater size than most carriers. Though it was originally intended to be a military cruiser, it was refurbished in light of the Treaty of Crux, and began its metamorphosis into an exploratory, civilian ship. Still, the hangar bore the marks of its Federation engineering, as evidenced by the sleek, black/grey architecture of the place, alien to both the former Resistance and Alliance. Most of the ships inside of it could be categorized into one of those three categories, but for three exceptions: Wilson's Vertibird, the Milano, and the Torch Hammer. All were unique in color and size, but the Torch Hammer was clearly discernible by its architecture, one that was both archaic and cutting edge. The ship was a hybrid between a carrier and a starfighter, coming in at around 40 meters long, and 27 meters wide. The cockpit was large, large enough to accommodate two people sitting next to each other, and the ship likely could house a few more people. In the back, a ramp was extended down, and a man leaned up against it. Eric Cooper was technically off-duty, but he still decided to wear his armor: a carapace reverse engineered from an Ignus Original's chassis, and other ceramic pieces guarding his shins, shoulders, and thighs. His dark hair was slightly ruffled, and perhaps in need of a haircut, but still managed to accentuate his rather handsome face and pale blue eyes, and his prosthetic right arm continued to twist and flex in anticipation. He hadn't exactly been thrilled when the First Officer had told him that Ambassador Cain, the former Ignus leader responsible for the invasion of New Terra and Earth, was to be assigned to his ship. Quite the contrary, in fact, but he needed a co-pilot, and he was an expendable way to test Cain's loyalty. So he just stood there waiting, waiting for this enigmatic being to come, and hold his life in his hands. (Open to Task primarily, but Jupiter or JT too)
