While reading the buff/nerf report from Sandbox Designer Jon Weisnewski he states "The elusive nocturnal bird… Hawkmoon has evaded many players for quite some time. It is one of the hardest weapons in Destiny to acquire, which probably makes it sting that much more when you are killed by it." What is the hardest weapon to get in Destiny? I think from the community you are going to get a resounding Gjallarhorn or Fate of All Fools if we are going for technicality, but lets just stick with the Gjallarhorn for now. Jon W. also says this about the Gjallarhorn "What we did not intend, and what we unfortunately saw, was pick up Raid and Nightfall groups gating participation based on whether or not players had this weapon. Gjallarhorn was so strong that for many people it had become the only answer to getting through tough encounters, and therefore they were less willing to spend time with other players that didn’t have it. " By making this a hard to acquire weapon you are making it that very thing you don't want, nerfing the wolfpack rounds seems like the very thing you would do to upset players with the weapon not those that get killed with it. If you made the weapon more attainable it would become like any other exotic. So far the only way you can get this weapon is on a luck drop from doing a Nightfall or running Crota hard and again this is just on a luck drop. Xur has sold this weapon once since he has been showing up so you can't say he offers it enough to even things out. Especially when you count how many times Xur has sold Universal Remote, Ice Breaker, and Mida Multi Tool. I am not going to tell you how to run your game because I am not you and I don't have the total overview that you do but from my perspective making this rocket launcher drop more often looks like a better way to level the playing field. and on a side note related to this... What is with once people get the Gjallarhorn, it seems like they get that drop multiple times. It is so hard to get yet once you get it...it isn't uncommon to hear of people with multiples of that weapon.
