Would you rather...
You would be able to control when and where you get born with the first option.
And you can remember your past lives but cannot control when or where you are born with the second option.

Either way is sad. The curse of immortals is watching all your mortal friends die. Even with ten 100 year lives, you'd grow old with them, but if your memory carried from one to the next, you'd still remember them.
