As long as my weapons still function in PVP, I will be okay with it. They should allow us to level everything up at the end of year 2, since the TTK weapons will be behind at that point as well. Once we've had a chance to try everything new, we should be able to choose to use older weapons if we wish, just like we were able to at thee end of year 1.
