Once again, a higher damage cap doesnt really mean sh1t unless the weapon stats support higher damage output. Using handcanons as an example, what if all of the new ones have a higher cap, but half the impact. That definitely will affect damage output. And Bungie has a history, so far, of reducing stats. Weapons have become relatively weaker with each expansion. All im saying is there is a reason people are still using vanilla and VoG weapons, because the newer ones have not been worthy replacements despite the higher level caps. Ascending or not, i would still be using my VoC because to me, there hasnt been a better scout introduced yet. But, if they make a better one, not just one with a higher level cap, i will gladly abandon it. Again, compelling new weapons is the key. Not change just for the sake of change.

Oh my god let me put my point more simply for you. *Insert un-ascended weapon here* - Better feel - Better perks - Smaller numbers in the same amount of time TTK Weapon - Not so great perks - Not so great feel - Bigger numbers in the same amount of time. In a game where your job is to kill things. The gun that has the higher DPS is the one that is superior. That is a factual statement. You don't get to use something just because "Muh Feelz" and "Muh Nostalgia" and get to completely ignore whether or not its statistically better than other things available. If you do, then you are going to be called a fool as you should be.

Edited by coppertop1124: 7/26/2015 7:48:37 AMLearn about the game mechanics. Its not just about the damage number. That is why even though all the weapons can have the same damage cap, but different actual dps. Do some research. But you obviously have no idea so im not even going to continue with this any longer.
