So I'm curious what's armor customization going to be like in halo 5? Obviously it was just full suits in the beta, is it going to stay that way, or will they change it to match previous games standards of personal touch?

It wasn't full suits though. Shoulders, chest and helmet can be changefd separately.

In the beta for halo 5 customization was limited to suits, helmets and visors.
