Hold on, let me get this right.

So in the update last week I read this - "Gjallarhorn was so strong that for many people it had become the only answer to getting through tough encounters, and therefore they were less willing to spend time with other players that didn’t have it". Followed by - "We strive for destiny to be a place where a single weapon or strategy does not dictate how, or whom you spend your time". Which to me states that people are not helping other players get through things like nightfalls and raids because they don't own a gjallarhorn. People were excluding fellow guardians from play. The next sentence in that update states that "In the new world gjallarhorn is still worthy of it's legacy as an exotic Heavy weapon, but we hope it promotes inclusive behaviour rather than exclusivity". So in my understanding, people being jerks not helping out because others don't have a certain gun leads to a nerf of said gun. Correct? In this weeks update I read - "There will be more choices than ever to arm yourself in the tower. Factions will have their own guns. Classes will have their own guns." Let's stop there. Help me out here. Bungie are going to nerf gjallarhorn because of exclusivity, but then they release a statement that could promote even more exclusivity? This wouldn't be the first time we see a class type of exclusivity either. Remember when Crota's end was released? The only way anyone would be bothered to do that raid was to have a Titan who could jump up from the lamp post. After the first round of patches came through to current game state, people will hold off from doing it without a warlock to cheese the bridge. These examples of exclusivity are ones that bungie could not help, people will always try to cheese/glitch through a game. Gjallarhorn nerf or not, as the last 2 weekly updates read I think exclusivity is going to be a problem, possibly an even bigger issue. For those of you who don't think this will be a problem, that's cool, but if people are excluding you because you don't have a gjallarhorn you should believe that a gun that can be wielded by a different class type than you, a gun that makes a particular part easier, will still mean that you are going to get left out (To put that a different way, imagine you are a warlock trying to get into a raid, but hunters were the only class that can use gjallarhorn...). For anyone getting rejected by people for not having a gun, feel free to join my clan.

  • There has always been exclusivity things that class based. It just wasn't on a outrageous scale like the GHorn which had a enormous terrible feedback from the community of players who basically could play the end game content.
