Before it all starts, I'd like to make something clear in understatement of this forum's reputation: There is no "saltiness" here, I am not a "skrub", and I have nothing against Bungie, however this does not make me a "desticle". I know every post starts with this now but, it's more than necessary to declare.
So this is just random things I believe to be wrong with Destiny, by my standards at least. Before you say it, I understand that every game has limits in terms of content and opportunity, but that is no excuse. My goal with this is for my list to relate to other people, and maybe, just maybe, change things. That chance is very slim, for both any change inspired by this or a player's interest in my "blacklist" but I'm bored, so here it goes:
- Crucible teams always tremendously unbalanced (should be organized by Grimoire, time played, and some system for Skill; should NOT be organized by Light Level)
- Exotics easily exploited
- Guardians' armor, weapons, and abilities aren't strong enough for PvE, causing them to resort to "cheesing"
- Vault Space isn't unlimited
- Restriction to amount of Marks that can be earned each week
- No dynamic elements within Vanguard strikes, causes boredom to ensue too quickly
- PS4 Exclusiveness
- Updates spread too far apart
- No gear above Exotic level
- RNG looting system* (Lazy, agitating, and VERY easy to exploit)
- Last City is off limits
- Sparrows have no differentiation in style, no useful abilities (Except boosts in speed)
- No Exotic Marks, Bonds, or Cloaks
- Barely any options for customization of whatever (Comment if you don't understand)
- Vanguard weapons and armor in vanilla and pre-HoW versions permanently erased from game
- Weapons don't correspond to shaders, or have their own shader system
- Many enemies' accuracy is outrageous/impossible
- Enemy species' have no life or sustenance, they're like robots (Comment if you don't understand)
- Bosses are reskinned and enlarged minions; this is lazy and unacceptable from developers like Bungie
- Weapons have ridiculous names (Not urgent, but necessary)
- All White, Green and Blue armor, weapons, Marks, etc. quickly become obsolete, a system alike Transmogrification in Diablo III must be placed
- Weapons sound insubstantial and sometimes strange, like they're digital rather than mechanical (Shotgun is fine)
- Weapon reload animations are unsatisfying, too quick and boring (IMO)
- Jumping styles are restricted between classes (Why shouldn't Warlocks double jump if Hunters can blink?)
- The beautiful and very latent story bears no emphasis in the "Campaign"
- Mythos is far too similar to Halo (Fallen, or Covenant? Tripmine grenade, or Spike grenade?)
- Some planets unable to be explored
- No friendly AI controlled units
- Emote system on D-Pad rather than another, more interesting or important mechanic; such as items, syntheses, beacons, or even perhaps airstrikes from your ship
- Ships are loading screens, rather than drivable machines (Not asking for space battles, I would simply prefer to drive myself place to place rather than an animation)
- Extracting or exiting from a mission is a simple teleportation, or as the game calls it "Transmaterialization", instead of riding your sparrow back to a base camp where Guardians' ships would/should be located (Great, now I'm starting to go off track)
- Xür should not exist
- Public events are too easy for high level players, and have no variety in target or objective (Minions, sometimes, with fancy names)
- Kinetic damage is incompetent to a degree and cannot be evolved
- Method to leveling up beyond 20 does not mix well with other ingame mechanics (Comment if you don't understand)
- Theatrics and speech passages can't be muted or skipped
- Changing characters in the Tower or Outpost is too complicated, should not have to leave zone or close current session
- Cannot choose to take helmet off during missions, for perhaps a significant (Thank you, @Odtopsy) decrease in armor (For those daredevils out there)
- Planets are only names, explorable zones only available
- Humans, Exos, and Awoken bear no distinctions between each other in terms of stats (Discipline, Intellect, and Strength)
Comment away if you agree/disagree, hate my guts, add to the list, or whatever.
