If it makes you feel better, I'm a day one player and I have yet to get a Hawkmoon. I believe Bungie mentioned in the Weapons 2.0 Update that Hawkmoon does have the lowest drop chance in the game. But I find that strange since some of my clan mates have gotten it 5 or more times.
