Yes. Every exotic has the same chance as any other to drop.

No it doesn't. Even bungie has admitted this. Certain exotics have weighted RNG so some are more likely to drop than others. I recall bungie saying hawkmoon has the lowest drop rate in the game.

When has Bungie ever said that? Bungie hasn't noted any drop rates for any exotics ever. Think of Rng like putting your hand in a bag and grabbing a marble. You take a marble out but then replace it afterwards. So who's to say you won't get that exact same marble again and again? If drop rates were pre-determined, someone would've found the exact drop rates for every exotic already. I bet you're also the type of guy who says xur won't sell gally because Bungie "[i]said[/i]" it's off the loot table.
