Anyone using a custom setup of any kind. I only just heard about KontrolFreeks and know there are some other custom add-ons and controllers out there. Just wondering if they are worth it.
What custom setups are you using? How would you rate them vs default controller? Do they make you a better Destiny player?

I use a Scuf for everything.

Edited by An Aids quilt: 7/24/2015 6:40:24 PMKontrolfreeks are probably the cheapest one you can get and they can be cross game as well moded controllers are usually an upwards of 150 usd and if they can have some trouble being set for multi game if said games are not extremely similar or the controller it self being expensive
I recommend getting two or three sets of kontrolfreeks that you think would be best for you and experiment to see what you like best before moving on to more expensive things
Use a standard ps4 controller with bumper jumper layout and a classic kontrol freek on the right stick.
-
I use "Grip-It" thumbstick covers. Their really cheap on Amazon & provide a very good non-slip grip on ur thumbsticks.
-
I use my normal Gold Xbox 360 controller, and have no problem annihilating in crucible so i have little respect for those who mod their controllers.
-
I upgraded to a KontrolFreek Vortex pack and SquidGrips on a standard controller. That made a noticeable difference. I later got a Cinch PS4 controller with X,Square on the left and O,triangle on the right. Also use the same KontrolFreeks with it. Being able to jump, reload, switch guns and slide without taking my thumbs off the sticks has improved my PvP game. (I wasn't great to start with so everything helps ;)

I use kontrolfreaks

Edited by Cabbage Dealer: 7/24/2015 6:50:51 PMThese customs are just an illusion to make you better. You guys shouldn't really bother with this things, all of you can do better than a sweaty tryhard streamer without those things.
-
That's cheating.
-
I use a KontrolFreak on my right thumbstick. Its the FPS Phantom set if anyone is interested, I absolutely love them, and you get two per pack so if you lose one you're good. I'd highly recommend picking up KontrolFreaks, they're cheap and fun to use.
-
I can't play without atleast one Kontrol Freak on my controller. For CoD I use a rapid fire controller (not against the rules, just frowned upon) Unfortunately Rapid fire mod has no use in Destiny.
-
Thinking about the Scuf possibilities I just realized it would be awesome for trials. Revive while still aiming and shooting. Just map one of the paddles to square.
-
Freaks are great but people saying they increase your aim a tonne are miss leading you, stats from hours of fps show that it will increase your accuracy from 5-10% at most that's it, thinking these things are magic or aim for you is madness! Scuff controllers tend to make people in destiny jump more but are great for keeping your hands on the sticks at all times which is good, I'd recommend a scuff or similar for people who struggle to jump and slide whilst gun fighting, Mouse and keyboard can Blam off!!! Get a PC
-
Kontrol freeks are 100% worth it. It takes a day to get used to them but they improve your aim a ton.
-
I use a scuff controller.. But only for cod, no gain on destiny
-
Squid Grips. A bit of cushion and no more sweaty hand issues. Frogs on the sticks too.
-
Bumper jumper layout with kontrol freek Cqc on the left stick and kontrol freek sniper on the right stick. Plus 5 sensitivity all around
-
All you need is bumper jumper
-
I use a Scuf 4PS controller with with a Kontrolfreek CQCX on the Left Stick and a Kontrolfreek UltraX on the Right Stick.
-
I have a special edition controller that's it

Edited by TKJ_Joker: 7/23/2015 10:35:56 PMI was mainly an Xbox One player but recently got a PS4, I hated the thumbsticks on the Dualshock 4 so I put some Xbox One controller thumbsticks in place of the standard Sony ones and I couldn't be happier. *Edited because auto correct is quite rude.
-
KontrolFreaks kind help just takes a lot to get use but once you get use to it you'll wonder why you haven't used one before.
-
FaZe Red wired SCUF One with FPSFreek Phantoms, and Triton Trigger Stereos. Plan on upgrading relatively soon.
-
Edited by Fury: 7/23/2015 8:20:53 PMI use kontrol freeks. I really like them. CQC on the left, CQC X on the right.

Edited by qy: 7/23/2015 8:58:01 PMI modded one of my stock controllers to have two scuf-style buttons on the back. The left one is A and the right one is B. Thank you Home Depot. I also got some blue chromed abxy buttons and triggers, as well as bumpers and a D-pad. I changed out the LED to be blue, as well. I also installed some black domed thumbsticks. It was a fun project and the controller is great. I dont have to do the claw technique anymore. I only wish i had wired in the X button so that i can shoot and revive in trials more easily.

Nope. Just play on low sensitivity for sniping and play with Bumper Jumper layout and there's not much difference IMO
