Why do people defend their consoles so dearly?
Whenever I'm on the Bungie forums, my fellow Xbox player are either making a complete ass of themselves or getting rekt by Playstation players.
The slightest inference of console superiority sends a thread into a total crap storm of "Playstation master race" and Xbox Master race".
There is no point complaining over preference, Xbox is my choice as I have played it for years and I have loads of time of the system, while when I was younger I used my Playstation for offline games, like Mass Effect and Little big planet and only used the online for DLC and getting new levels.
Please don't send this thread into a crapstorm like usual (looking at you Xbox fanboys).
Edit: by the looks of it the "PC master race" groups are the worst according to the majority of this thread, I agree.
Edit 2.0: The only problem with Xbox players is the fanboy supremacist players of xbox
Edit 3.0: Many people do not understand the purpose of this post, it's purpose is to see what the Destiny community believe the console race gap is caused by, a poll may follow to justify the post

I've had both and they are both very similar from what I've experienced except in the way they feel when using. I had absolutely no difference in performance. I like em both and IMO the only thing that makes me like Xbox more is that I've played it most of my life. I had a PS when I was younger but my first real online experience was Xbox and I've always preferred it.

The fanboi issues run deep here. "Loyal Xbox owners" to "PS4 master race!" find their way into many conversations. Destiny is a multiplatform game, but Sony has paid to market it like an exclusive title. Best bet is to simply ignore it. I just play games =)

I don't know man. I've owned both. I like my Xbox way better. But let me add everyone is entitled to their own reasons. Controllers are way more ergonomic You can steam external media from an external HD or USB (ps4 no no) FREE backwards compatibility. Gold discounts and free games. My list goes on....

I personally don't care, although it annoys me. I picked the xbox because of Halo and all my friends, but I want to get a PS4 eventually, and the only thing that makes that possible is I can set my bfs xbox as my home xbox so I don't have to pay for Xbox Live and PS+

I am glad they both exist. I used to think it would just be better if one system won. Then I realized how quickly they would start price gouging. Right now they make each other better. Look at all the changes to their online services because Xbox or Playstion made a change, like getting free games every month.

1 ReplyBecause they are idiots and probably just have the ONE console. I have both and I can say that each is good in their own right, they both lack quality exclusives which is kind of lame. I think xbox has a better friend/party/chat system. Ps4 has a better dashboard (astheticly) But even then its kind of all about preference. What do you want from your console and which one suits you better? To those that have just one console, they defend it because they lack common sense, and have nothing to compare.

I happily play Destiny on both. I'm just more experienced with Xbox after years with it. But playing the ps4 is really fun too and it's nice to get those exclusives that Xbox doesn't have!

I don't know, instead of coming together as gamers considering there is little love for our hobby outside those who do it, we choose to fight like children over which system we own, even though they're not as different as most people think. That's why companies can -blam!- us with exclusivity, because instead of protesting it together, the half of us that get the exclusives attack the other half because they don't. It's sad.

Console wars are just the tip of an iceberg. There are also IOS vs Android, Windows vs Mac OS, and so on. People just need to feel superior, simple as that.

I look at it like I look at sports rivalries, except in this case iv been on both sides of the fence. I went NES>SNES>N64>PS1>PS2>XB360>XB1 over the last 22~ years. I used to defend my Super Nintendo vs Sega Genesis. I defended my PS2 vs XBox. & I still defend my XBox One vs PS4. I'm a very competitive person and I [i]love[/i] to let people know they're wrong (definitely stems from being an athlete & diehard sports fan). This is probably the same reason why I loathe the entire city of Philadelphia and everyone that lives there. Obviously, it's not as healthy a rivalry as in sports because of the anonymity in gaming, which allows anyone to be rude and disrespectful.
