This is just a little change up of the forums due to the whole weapon tuning thing.
Now I don't mean for this to break out into arguments ok guys I'm just generally curious as to how the rest of the destiny community judges other players without ever meeting or playing with them.
Me personally I look at grimoire score, only because it shows how dedicated someone is to completely maxing out the game.
But like I said no arguments, hey you might even learn something and improve your character so it impresses other people without even playing with them.
Edit 1: my bad for not explaining myself about the grimoire. I won't disallow anyone into my raid team, Poe team etc if their grimoire score is low however I will change my playstyle to be more serious. For example if a level 34 is in my raid team and they have 1000 grimoire score then I will change my playstyle to be more serious and more descriptive in my actions due to the fact they have not done said raid before. My bad for not explain that sorry.
Edit 2: I'm so glad with the outcome of this post. Almost no arguments and people talking nice to each other and giving their constructive feedback based on their "judgment system" it's been lovely reading all of your replies and even engaging in conversations with some of you. Nice to see we still have a lovely polite community of guardians after the whole ordeal lately, this will be my last edit for this post guys but I hope to see you all in the battlefield some day guardians :) happy killing

If they have Gjallarhorn there's a 70/30 chance they suck. If they don't have Gjallarhorn it's 50/50.

Grimour and skill

Do I enjoy this person's company? Are they fun to be around? If so, then I'll play with them. Simple as.
-
I watch how they play and pay attention to how they die. If they do badly, I'll spend more time with them til I feel like my help is irrelevant to their success.
-
Well when I see trials foes here's how I can tell it's gonna be an easy match. -not 34 by now -unupgraded gear -less than 3k grimoire -black hammer (either that or I'm gonna be in an mlg montage) Guaranteed 5-0 game. I love these.
-
Depends on what I'm doing. If I'm just passing time I don't care, always down to help chill people. If I'm raiding seriously though or doing 35 PoE, I expect to see appropriate guns. And if you don't know what you're doing or need help, just say so and actually listen. Gets old doing it with people that clearly need help but don't actually want to learn how to do it and just get carried.

By the color of their skin

Edited by Sivatrix: 7/23/2015 5:09:21 AMIf they ask me for help then try and boss me around. Me:*a guardian has left your fireteam*

If they know what they are doing and they do it well. There is no factor that determines skill better than your eyes.
-
Everyone gets a chance until they prove unfriendly, skill or not the game can be enjoyed. If someone's a tryhard that gets mad or quits, good riddance, we can't all be 100% awesome or perfect.
-
After a PvE or PvP match. Never before it's not fair.
-
I never judge, it's a bad thing
-
I would like for them together all red pingers and let them have they own server cause they are a Cancer

I find its really hard to tell. If I look at completions of raids it could be inaccurate. Take for instance mine, it says I've only killed Atheon 4 times. I've done that in less than an hour before. Same with Crota. It doesn't say this guy can run this alone. My grimmore is really high at least to me, mostly I go by trial and if they are good I friend them if not I don't. If they can't handle the most basic of things in a raid or are unable to follow simple directions I kick them. When playing PoE I will try to finish until it looks pointless then I politely day that I have tried enough times and can not continue. Thank everyone for trying then move on.
-
I judge by the way they play. I give everyone a chance. I don't care either way, if you're honest and tell me that you're a noob, I'll gladly teach. If you say you know what you're doing and you obviously don't, then I'll get pissed and leave.
-
If a player is just a God at both PvP and PvE but treats others like dirt... Nope, no thanks, life's too short to be gaming with jerks.
-
PVE -> raid completions PVP -> KD Nothing else really matter for these areas. Grimoire means something for PVE but mostly it's grind, not skill.
-
Grimore all the good players have over 3100 by now. Casual players & noobs on summer break still have less than 3k still avoid them at all costs
-
I judge players by checking their gear. That includes the stats (intellect, discipline, and strength) Along with perks (to see if it matches their weapons) But I won't kick you if all that is bad. I'll kick you if you don't have a Gjallarhorn. :P
-
I judge characters based on their flawless raider achievment date. If they did it pre atheon flawless patch then I suck their blam

Edited by bokr: 7/23/2015 4:00:42 AMOf they are a Titan or not. No Titan in a fire team is a good fire team
-
Squeaker or not! That's it.

I don't research anyone before hand, and I play plenty of games with randoms using this forum's recruitment exclusively. I have had good experiences, great experiences, and bad experiences. The good experiences end with a "Had a good time guys(or girls). Thanks for the game." The great ones I friend and play with again. The bad ones I keep my comment to myself, finish the strike/round, and mute the player if necessary. Even a bad game doesn't last THAT long, and I feel as though there is a social contract between gamers that says that something, once started, should be finished. I don't care about stats. I have had great games with day one players. I have had great games with with Guardians so new a Christmass kinderguardian would justly call them noob. It's a game. I play for a good time. It's a game. Have FUN!

I judge them by the way they play.

I don't judge. That's how.
