Gave up eventually. Closest I got, he was on infinitesimal health, bar near invisible, 1 hit from dead, I dropped him a second time and was charging in, hit the slam button... and the sword disappeared, leaving me holding Dragon's Breath, and I died in the explosion.
Hunter, Dragon's Breath and Nighthawk. Process so far:
1. Kill all ads on right hand side out of the crystal room as quick as possible and get out.
2. Lure swordbearer back to the entrance tunnel. Drop him around 38 seconds from entering the main chamber.
3. Jump up the easy side, then across to the right side. Dragon's Breath into his chest, wait, fire second rocket and pick up the sword. Hope the DoT drops him.
4. Go for 3 hits, maybe 4. Run.
5. Back up the stairs. Clear out the remaining knights and acolytes. Watch for Crota's return to the centre.
6. Lure the knight back. Kill him the moment Crota moves left.
7. Jump up the easy side. Hit crota with 2 DB, just like before.
8. Hit him 3 times, 2 if I mess up timing.
9. Retreat, drop sword. Hit golden gun and take Crota down
10. Get 2 more hits on him and flee.
11. Kill ogres (and any acolytes left sniping from the balcony)
12. Lure swordbearer back. Wait for Crota to return to centre (from right).
13. Take swordbearer down when he moves left.
14. Repeat steps 7-10
Problems -
1. When coming out of GG, the pick up sword glitches. Hold down X, the circle fills, but leaves the sword behind. This is a time-critical action, it costs me an entire round of hits each time it happens. Suspect conflict between put-away-GG /draw original weapon and pick up new weapon - it switches to sword, then drops it immediately if you pick it up too fast after gg.
2. On the left side, Crota seems to move out of the dragons breath lasting grenade effect faster. Taking him down with 2 rockets is not reliable, but 3 drops him too fast, leaving only 1-2 hits possible by the time I've reached him. Considering 2 rockets and a grenade.
3. Always short on time before enrage. Takes ~ 11 hits to take down Crota, but not possible to get two downs on right hand ledge due to time taken to cross the gap. It's risky doing it on left, can't waste time aiming or waiting for Crota to stop weaving around. Second most frequent fail is not dropping him here, charging in and being sliced in half, just behind the golden gun/sword pickup glitch.
