I don't expect many to pay much attention to this but, i did this cause i rally just felt like it lol. Any who, Try this set up. It is VERY viable but demands for some substantial skill.
Blade dancer
Blink - for the super cheap blink shotgun of course, but it also is a great follow up to a nlb body shot. Shoot -> blink -> blink strike(or) shoot.
Arc bolt nades - easily cleans up body shots.
Fast twitch - best ability so you can focus armor stats on discipline and intelligence. Also cleans up body shots quite well.
Quick draw - applies snapshot, single point sling, and instant readiness after all actions to all weapons)
The last perk is up to you. I prefer hungering blade. Healing after killing things makes arc blading a lot easier.

Armor
Knucklehead radar - not only is it the coolest helmet, it goes perfectly with nlb when you are hard scoping. the only other way of obtaining third eye on a sniper is using the exotic sniper patience and time.
favorite everything else - be sure to focus on intelligence and descipline (fwc specializes in this)
How I play it
Mastering the reload cancel is really important first and foremost.
After shooting, just reload and sprint. You will kind of wave your gun and you will be ready to fire again. If the enemy is head shooting you with most primaries you can end up dead. But if not you can win the engagement. I've gotten most of my problems from tlw players. I suggest blink shotgunning them.
Don't miss out on special ammo. Camp it if you must. And after obtaining it makes your way to the next box till you're stocked. Running around with only a nlb to defend yourself with is crazy stressful.
This is a mid range heavy set up. Out snipping a player using a special slot sniper with nlb is possible, but it's nigh impossible at an extended range. This set up should not be taken to combined arms.
Be slippery. Let enemies follow you. Tease them a moment and let them walk in your line of sight. Pre-Measure that head shot distance from the ground and fire away.
Remember at cqc if you only manage a body shot blink in the air for that ninja melee blink strike. If you have a nade handy, use that+blink.... blink is so gay lol
Practice makes perfect. I am firm this is the optimal nlb crucible build but it won't win you rumble matches in the beginning. And when the easy mode players (tlw + felwinter) roll in, your aim will truely be tested. I have won plenty rumble games with tlw players running around and still managed 2.0- 3.0 kdr. But it took me a good while to get there.
Most importantly, have fun and make EM salty!

Wouldnt it be cooler to follow uup with a throwing knife after a nlb body shot?
-
Your optimal NLB setup is being a blink shotgunner?
-
I finished a game of control with a k/d of 6.5 using the NLB lol I struggle to use TLW and thorn, I hate people who use them and I hate having to use them but I am a monster at times running a NLB. Best PvP weapon in the game in my opinion.
-
Props for sharing and effort, but any decent hunter would know this setup already, hell i knew what to aim for specs straight away when i got nlb because of the slow aim.
-
My optimal NLB setup is the one where it stays in my vault and I use a gun that isn't a joke. :)
-
I never knew QuickDraw gave snapshot. I thought you could just swap weapons faster

I'm not the best at pvp but I do love the nlb. I don't play crucible that often, so I never became really good at blink. I play mainly on my hunter now and switch between nlb or my ghaleon's demise. For nlb I run gun slinger with the symbiote helmet. Nlb Vestian dynasty Hunger/btrd

Primary: No land beyond Special weapon: Eye of Sol Heavy Weapon: Ash Factory or Hunger of Crota I usually use knucklehead, even though I really hate how it looks, for its active radar. If Im playing combined arms though I use all exile gear since I wont need my radar as much.

I run Bladedancer with the Lucky Raspberry. Easy clean up with added range ;) Loadout: -NLB (duh) -Exile's Curse -Radegast's Fury
