I don't hate the Venom GT itself but I hate the fanboy community that thinks it's the greatest thing ever.
-The car is bare bones nothing, the Bugatti Veyron can be a daily driver.
-The car is assembled in England (it even says it in the engine bay) on a Lotus Exige so until they build 30 of them (only 29 are planned) it's a tuner.
-The fact that it is assembled in England hardly makes it American, like everybody claims it is.
Now here are my problems with the record
-The run was only done in one direction, not both directions to negate the effects of wind
-To classify as a production car, they have to build 30 of them, and as I mentioned earlier, only 29 are planned. This is why Guinness World Records has not recognized it as an official record yet.
-They used speed recording equipment that is known for only being accurate within 1-2 mph.
Like I said, I think the car itself is a wonderful piece of machinery, but to say it's the fastest car in the world is incorrect. People could argue that it is still the fastest street legal car in the world, but the BADD GT by PPR beats it in that regard.
I'd take the Ford GT or the McLaren F1 or a million others over it any day anyway.
