Bungie recently tried to fix a "problem" in relation to owning a Gjallarhorn. The community was very outspoken about their woes of not being included in raids and Poe (pve content) due to not owning a Ghorn. Bungles answer to this: they nerf the weapon.
This nerf was unneeded. Ghorn is a pve weapon, bottom line. If you want an exotic rocket launcher for PvP, you use Truth. With its aggressive heat sealing rounds, it's the rocket launcher of choice for PvP (if you want to use an exotic. Going with Ghorn in PvP does not really give you any edge. You could use plenty of other launchers that would have the same outcome.
I understand wanting to do right by the community. But if Bungie wanted to fix the "lack of Ghorn problem", they had other options. Xur could've sold it again. It's not like he hasn't before (though it was only once back in Vanilla game). Sure some people would've been upset by this, like the people who "earned" it. But now, there is a much greater amount of people pissed bc of the Wolfpack round nerf.
They could have increased the drop rate. Hell, they could've even given them away if they really wanted to. This nerf was very unnecessary. Ghorn only gave people a leg up because other players did not want to run content with people who did not own one. Nerfing the gun all around does not fix the dilemma. All it does is hurt all the players who currently own one.
It seems like every time Bungie tries to fix something, they just create a larger mess.
