Objectively, if the Exotic vs Legendary argument is the only reason it's getting nerfed, it should simply be upgraded to an exotic. Nerfing guns because you can kill a boss 2 minutes faster is asinine. Fact is, BH is FUN. If you dismantle the perk that makes it a fun, interesting, highly rewarding, and unique gun, it's going to be less fun. Less fun + Destiny is NOT a good thing. Destiny has suffered from a lack of content right from the beginning as it is. We don't need to be taking the fun that we have out of it.
