The Gjallahorn nerf is a good thing for every single person playing Destiny. It will force us to use different, interesting heavy weapons, instead of relying on an easy fix. The IceBreaker nerf will mean you can shoot 2 seconds, and it won't change that much. None of these nerfs are meant to attack the community, they are meant to help it. If every PvE encounter was too easy, t wouldn't be fun. The best parts of Destiny (first VoG, Lighthouse, etc.) are all fun because you can overcome a challenging objective. Without the challenge, there is no reward. There's the material reward (i.e. loot), but the emotional reward, that feeling of success is far more powerful.
The Gjallahorn will not be useless after the nerf, but it will only increase that feeling of success we all crave for. Every game goes through phases of nerfs and buffs. It's hilarious when everyone says "Bungie loves to nerf EVERYTHING", when most of the changes in the next patch are BUFFS. Hard Light, No Land Beyond, Necrochasm, Auto Rifles, etc.
There is a careful balance of nerfs and buffs that they need to maintain. If they buff everything, then power creep becomes a problem, and even worse, Time to Kill inflation. If a few weapons kill to fast, the solution isn't to buff everything else to that level. It causes huge long-term and short term problems for the game.
If you don't want to play Destiny, for whatever reason, that's fine. Go ahead. But don't act like you are the last bastion of free will, standing up to Big Bungie. You aren't a revolutionary, you aren't a hero. Your opinion is valid, not all of these changes are perfect and they should be argued on these forums. None of these changes are meant to spite you, every single one is made to make Destiny more fun in the short term, and the long term.
Please take a deep breath and calm down.
