Doesn't matter, you could still pick up special ammo boxes. Plus you could also pop a special ammo synthesis. It doesn't change your gameplay at all, it just lets you make the decision of wether to pop a synthesis and keep shooting or be active and go get some special ammo boxes

That's quite true but in that case why did the gun need a nerf if ugameplay didn't change?

Just to add consequence for sitting in one spot, they made you take the choice of popping a synthesis or getting special ammo instead of just sitting in one spot with no consequences.
