I have never seen this gun used to get repeat rounds in Crucible activities. Rarely except for the PoE boss here and there does this gun get used. On bosses that tend to be stagnant in motion I do see this gun used. Even then a Nightfall run on the Venus strike it takes almost 30 plus rounds landing critical hits to make his health move a lot. Rarely does anyone else do this but me in strikes and the occasional case in PoE.
Now my above example points out one thing. That is this gun affect the PvE aspect of the game. I do not have hard stats so solely my observation that this gun does its job. It is unique in what it can do as long as you can land the shots. I am fairly good with snipers but with auto aim assist tends to mess up my shots often. So I pose this question to Deej and the new CM Cozmo. Why is it so important to ruin unique aspects of weapons just because?
Thorn is a unique weapon and in fact the only weapon in its class. All you are doing is putting it in the class of AR weapons. Right move in a way as it will balance out long range fights. Did you remove its burn perk? Of course you did not and why is that? Because it does not break the game, right... Look at the history of ToO, Crucible, and Iron Banner. It is riddled with one the hardest weapons to earn. If you do what you plan to this sniper it will end up being deleted down to one copy. Nearly every other sniper can be much better than it without trying to hard. Snipers in PvE are not effective enough as it is.
This is my comment on this. The plan with Thorn should work to restore balance. The Black Hammer is harming very little in the game. Unless the whole team or at least two people use it on the large bosses it only affects a fraction of the damage. This gun when more then one uses it on fallen walkers and smaller enemies actually can mess up the perk by head bobbing or the fallen walker falling down mid shot. I chose not to add any videos so this could at least be viewed for an hour or two.
Edit 07/19/2015 Pacific Time 18:29: Wow so far /114 votes and 80% think its a mistake to change perk. Guess 10 say they do not have one.
Note: It appears the graph may not show the numbers right. So I will update this number above for consistency. Seems Bungie graph does not reflect the voting correctly here. So please take note of the edit data.

I don't have one AND I think this is a terrible mistake. If it must be nerfed, just lower the inventory size, remove perfect balance, and make it never stun bosses.
