On each of those encounters there are areas in the map where adds cannot reach you or shoot you, rendering them irrelevant and you free to continue spamming shots.

I only know about such spots in the nexus, fallen walker and cabal tanks. These strikes are easy and a joke with or without BH. What really matters is the endgame content.
