The problem with the elitism in reference to the Gjallarhorn is the fact that Bungie never implemented matchmaking for end game content. With matchmaking you would of had a huge majority of people experiencing the end game content thus less whining about getting locked out for not having it. This is more of the problem rather than the wolfpack rounds doing too much damage.

Match makIng would lead players to experience crappy end game activities. Thus making them unlikely returning to raid activities. Forcing you to actively search out a group forces at least some buy in and makes for a far better experience.
-
When you go out and search for a group you are essentially doing the matchmaking for yourself, other than asking for specific weapons and lvls what makes it different from matchmaking in any other activity in this game?
-
Yes. That forces a level of buy in. I have played nearly every day since launch and I have was never once in a group that excluded anyone for anything besides level. I agree Destiny needs some form of it. But not match makIng like it used in PvP or strike. There needs to be buy in.
-
You make a good point with the buy in factor.
-
True, but matchmaking will spawn AFK-ers and Quitters, so another problem, another whine wave on the forums.
-
If only matchmaking could be toggled on or off..... See where I'm getting at? Hey this game has been out for nearly a year and they still haven't done this. Why don't they talk about that?

Oh, we can dream!
